And in my personal experience...it does peel the skin Hun. Have you ever used Kojic acid personally or is all this info based off of your research alone? Either way....have fun conducting your experiment!(15-02-2013, 07:33 AM)CelebrityChic Wrote:(14-02-2013, 10:20 PM)Emily Loretta Wrote: I'm going to be ordering Kojic Acid to use in my solution. It inhibits the production of melanin so I think that will be very helpful in the eye lightening process. Why do you think that Kojic acid would be good to use in the eye? You do know it is strongly acidic and it makes the skin peel in the skin lightening process. Just because it inhibits melanin production and works well for the skin, does not mean it will work well for they eyes....proceede with caution.
Hey CC
Probably look up Kojic Acid if you want to know more about it. Kojic Acid isn't an "acid" in that sense of the word, as its pH is between 5-9 or pKa 9-10. Water is between pH 5-6 or pKa 14-16. Also there's been studies done using kojic acid in the eye albeit with rabbits but still the worst case was a red eyes for 10 minutes or so. And it doesn't peel skin off in the lightening process.
Thanks for the vote of concern though, that's sweet! I've done research into it so its time to put theory into practice. Also bacteria can grow in a saline solution so make sure to replace it every week. This is one of reason I stick with water/honey, alot easier to manage.
