Finding Hope After 1.5 Years of No Progress (An A Cup)

be careful with ainterol... I don't think its good for women at all but il let you be the judge of that.

have you approached your labs and asked them if you can get a "self referred" lab test of your hormones? I realise each country is different. in my country for example you can go direct to the labs and ask for a blood test and get your estrogen and progesterone, I think testosterone also and its only $20 per hormone and you get the results in a couple of days. the more comprehensive tests are hideously expensive though.

have you thought about starting up on a low dose of maca and scrap the other herbs? I think spearmint tea wouldn't interfere with that for the acne. while maca does make me jittery at higher doses and don't take it if you have any blood pressure issues , the upside is it gently boosts my libido and does give me some energy. as far as the hormone balancing goes most here seem to think it helps.

the best thing you could do is find a local health shop who sells herbs and vitamens and seek advice they may put you onto something that will balance you out and in turn help in the boob department? id go down this route before trying BC, BC can complicate things long term. I have many girlfriends who can testify to this.

Have you had a bad experience with Ainterol specifically? Do you have suggestions for any other PM brands?

I have not asked for a hormone test, but I will look into it, especially because I have had to stop PM and PC for now (see below for why). Perhaps I can find a lab that will; where I live there are distinguished medical research facilities which may do it for free or discounted. Thank you for the advice. I had never really thought to look into other options because all I had seen was expensive tests. In order to get an accurate result, I know I'll have to stop all herbs for a few months and I may have to test more than once.

Honestly, I think I will take your advice and start maca again, especially since I've had to stop PM and PC anyway. I need to get my hormones balanced. I had stopped taking maca because I had read that it can break people out, and I'm extremely sensitive to that.

I have never been on BC and I don't want to be, but I probably will be in a few years if I don't have a reliable alternative (but the thought scares me because it directly affects hormones). If I wasn't worried about it, I probably would have gone on BC already to see if it would affect my breasts...but based on my lack of progress so far I'm not sure it would.

Since my last update I have stopped taking PC and PM because one of them (not sure which of course!) caused me to break out horribly on my chin just after my period (after stopping PC and a day or two after beginning PM). This is where I normally break out when I am not applying bp consistently, and where I usually break out just before my period. It is never this bad though, so I know something was messed up by one of the two. I am waiting for my skin to heal and I may try one of the two again next cycle.

I'm a little worried about taking just one of the two because I don't want to have a dominance of one over the other. A few days after I started PC I definitely felt something, and after I stopped PC and started to break out I continued to take PM for about 3 days and I still felt nothing. I don't know if the sudden feeling with PC means that I was really low, or that maybe I took too much and it caused me to break out. I'm not sure what it means that I felt something when on PC but not PM. I took neither one long enough to know for sure, but it interests me.

I've never used ainterol or any other pm. I have watched many girls on here suffer bad effects off ainterol where as the men do well on it it seems.

I don't think effects from pm are permanent for women only while you use it. I may be wrong but the risk of raising estrogen high "just to see if it works" scares me, plus I've emailed sellers of pm who have said to me if you are estrogen dominant or even suspect you might be then don't take pm. sorry this gives me no right to comment on pm but I've seen too many bad stories re pm not warn someone who is open to listening Smile

And yeh having suffered bad effects also from pc cream I think you are on the right track by balancing out versus doing what you said, possibly becoming dominant in one or another hormone. I think herbs can be helpful though on a world where we are bombarded by bad xenoestrogens as long as it's done monitored by way of hormone tests, it's just a crying shame it's soo expensive to get them Angry

No don't apologize, I really appreciate your advice. It's really helping me to sort things out. I will probably stay away from the PM for awhile, but I'll admit I'm still tempted to try PC again later because it had an affect on me...but I do suspect that it was also what made me break out. I had also read about Hops; do you have any experience or advice about taking it? I don't know...maca is probably a better option. Maybe then I'll be able to achieve some kind of permanent gain from noogling. Just thinking outloud here haha. It really is a shame that those tests are so expensive. They can be helpful for so many people; they should be more of a routine thing.

I still take fg and sp inconsistently to try to keep my androgen levels down; do you think that I should continue to take them with maca?

I am not going to start taking maca again until my breakout clears up completely. It's on its way, but I have a big event to go to in a week and I don't want to mess with my hormones anymore right now.

I tend to think the less the better. Ie if your taking maca then don't take anything that might try to raise hormones when macas trying to balance them ie fenugreek. im still not really sold on what fenugreek actually does.. does it raise e or p or both..
saw palmetto now I hear is an anti estrogen so not a bad thing I guess if you have to much.

Its all to much of a guessing game for me to make any suggestions, you sound really smart, go with your gut. Just remember less is more Smile

To finally answer your question, super after the fact...I've always had imbalances. My acne was terrible in high school. My periods were so heavy that I couldn't make it through the morning bus ride without sometimes soaking through a super-plus tampon and a pad. And without birth control, I still get awful mid-cycle pain. I'd say I'm better off now than I used to be, but I still need DHT/androgen blockers to maintain a decent complexion.

Anyway, I think your decision to go back on maca is good! And staying away from PM now is probably for the best. Have you considered using something that lowers androgens? Spearmint tea, reishi, massaging with coconut oil. I want to say that most of those are going to be pretty much harmless in regards to other aspects of your heath. Reishi is a general health and immune tonic. Spearmint tea is just...tasty tea. And coconut oil has numerous benefits, externally and internally. They're seriously the only things that brought my acne down without BCP. And DHT is a huge inhibitor of breast growth.

Newbie here... Is there a place where I can get a list of all the abreviations you guys use? I found this thread searching for info on Maca. But I can't make heads or tails out of what you guys are saying because of all the abreviations
