I Had a Fat Transfer (Tubular Breasts)

#1

So, a while back I went looking for a PS who would help me out with my tube boobs through fat grafting and basically got a big fat "No it can't be done, come back when you decide you want me to put implants in." Ouch. I had pretty severe tuberous breasts: high IMF, very wide set breasts with little to no tissue (and what I did have was herniated), the whole shebang. Plus asymmetry.
So I came here, looked into noogleberry and herbs! And while it helped a little, I really wasn't getting the results I wanted. I happened to run across another PS, and even though I was worried I'd leave his office in tears as well, I went in for a consult. I told him what I wanted, and he told me that he could do that for me! So we began working everything out! I didn't care how big I ended up (cause really I can always go back to herbs or for another round Wink ), but I wanted round or teardrop, perky, pretty boobs. I decided to do everything in two rounds. In the first round he did riggotomies, and grafting. The second round, which I just had done on Monday, was another round of grafting, more rigottomies, and a lift. I did these procedures about 8 months apart. Since I'm just sitting at home recovering from this round, decided I'd see if anyone was interested in my procedures or had any questions!

Hi TotallyTubular, I would love to hear more about your fat transfer procedure. I also have a few questions: Do you know how many cc's of fat he was able to get into each breast? Is there a huge noticeable difference or is it mostly subtle and did you get the desire shape? What was the pain like, and how long did it last? do you have any noticeable scars? What is your healing process like and what did your PS tell you to expect? Thanks for offering up your personal insight! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

The first round he put in 250cc into each breast. The difference was hugely noticeable, and I didn't quite get the shape I wanted but it was hugely improved from before.
This time he put 300cc in my right breast and 200cc in my left (to correct my asymmetry), and performed a mastopexy. It's still too soon to know the final result, but I'm currently loving the shape and size I have on them. My PS says that whatever is left at the one month mark is what's there to stay. That was true for me last time.

The pain is mostly like really sore muscles. Every now and then there's an occasional sharp twinge at an incision site though. The liposuction bothers me more than the fat transfer sites. Days 1 and 2 are the worst, I'd have ranked my pain at probably a 5-7 when moving. By day 3, I'd say pain was probably a 3-4 when I had to go from laying down to sitting up or standing, and probably a 2 or 3 while walking around. Right now, with the lift, I'm 5? days out and I don't have to take anything during the day for pain, though I do take something before bed and occasionally in the early morning to help with the stiffness of not moving. Taking the compression garment off for the first time for a shower is the worst pain from the whole thing, and taking it off or putting it on still causes pain to jump up pretty badly. The pain from taking off/putting on the garment s over pretty quickly but it is terrible. It took probably 2-3 weeks for the pain from the lipo to be completely gone. My breasts actually only have a dull achy feeling to them right now if I move weird, but I do remember having slightly increased sensitivity to pressure in my breasts for about 2 months last time.

I had no noticeable scarring on my breasts from the fat transfer the first time. I had a periareolar lift done this time, so hopefully the scarring from that should be minimal and fade nicely over time! Scarring from the lipo was there, but not really noticeable unless you were actually looking for it. I had no stitches during my first round, only steri strips.

The healing process wasn't too bad. The first 3 days or so, you mostly just lay around resting and icing your chest. Really just trying to disturb the fat as little as possible. Then taking it easy for the next few weeks, no heavy lifting, keep pressure off the fat, no strenuous exercise, no bathing or swimming for 3 weeks after surgery, and wearing a sports bra and the compression garment pretty much 24/7 to help with support and swelling. My PS told me to expect the lipo swelling to last the longest, with most of the swelling gone by two months, and minimal swelling until 6 months out. I was told that my breasts would likely have some "lumps" and hard spots for a few months while my body healed, and that they will go away after you can start massaging them. I had them on my first round, and they did go away. With the lift, I was told to expect some skin puckering/pleating where it was stitched, but that it will smooth out. I was also told to expect to be pretty worn out the first couple days, but that I should be able to start resuming normal activity after about a week and that I should have no problem returning to work on light duties after two weeks. I imagine if you worked a desk job you could probably be back to work sooner than that, but I took two weeks off since I am running around all day at work.

No problem! I'm happy to share, since it seems to be a pretty uncommon thing to have done! Thanks so much!

The brush technique on how to increase breast size with massage size was introduced by a Japanese lady named Chiyomilk.

I am super interested in the details of your procedure. I am considering a fat graft but with it not being widely done yet there aren't many stories out there, and even less success stories. What cup size were to before and what are you now? Would you be willing to share the doctors name, since I'm trying to find one I can trust to give a good result? So many doctors I find say they wouldn't guarantee more than one cup increase from the procedure but I know some doctors have been able to do much more. Are you overall happy with the results? Is there any procaution on having to maintain your current weight so the fat doesnt shrink? Do you have any advice for someone looking into the procedure?

Thank you so much for sharing!

you can find good reviews for Dr. Bednar on realself.com. it actually is a very common procedure now, and dr. Bednar specializes in it,  and he's great ay finding alot of fat on very skinny people.  If I ever decide to do,  I will be going thru him for sure. But there are reviews for other doctors as well on that site.

Ashley so good to hear from you! Yes I've been researching for a while and he does seem to be the man of the hour in our country. I have seen the most impressive results from doctors in Korea though. And the procedure will only cost half as much. Please send me a PM and let me know how you are doing!

Sorry for the late reply. I had my procedures done with Dr.Reuben in SLC. Estimated about a cup size, but I retained really really well. I was wearing 34A bras when I started (They were what fit best, dunno if it was the "right" size though since I was pretty tuberous) and I am now wearing 34DDD bras, and they fit fabulously, after 2 rounds. I do know that with my procedures (I'm going to do one more at the end of the year I think), Dr.Reuben has said that he'll be able to put more and more in each time, since the space is expanding. I can gain and lose weight and my breasts should lose/gain proportionally with the rest of me. Though I'm going to do my best to keep as much up top as I can with massage and all as I lose weight before my next procedure. I'm am beyond happy with my results, I've actually been sharing them all over the place!
As for advice, if you do look into getting it done, definitely look for someone board certified! I ran into a lot of doctors who could do it "cheap" but weren't actually surgeons. If you're going to have it done, you want someone with experience! It's definitely better to go with someone who would rather build up moderately and knows not to over do it, than someone who promises they can put in 800cc per breast! Too much at once can cause all sorts of issues and usually leads to most of the fat dying off.
