See no period at all would kind of scare me into thinking I'm prego lol

Well, they give you a test before insertion, just to be sure. Then they check the position of the IUD at the follow-up appointment (usually a month later) both manually and with an ultrasound machine. You check the strings every month to make sure it's in place. As long as it's there, everything should be okay.
Fot two years prior to insertion, I had a problem with anovulatory periods. I wasn't releasing an egg during my cycle, which came one to two weeks apart.
So not having a period doesn't upset me at all.
