Protein supplements

#1

Okay, so i went to my local supermarket and was looking for some whey protein to make my shakes. While browsing the shelves i saw next to the protein powder something called "mass builder". Just from a quick look i saw it has much higher amounts of protein.
I wanted to see if anyone has an opinion/experience with this stuff. I know i need protein shakes, but i was wondering if i could use this mass builder powder instead of regular old whey protein. In addition to my NBE goals i am trying to gain 10-20lbs. I am at a healthy weight now according to drs, but i feel like im a bit on the thin side. I actually WANT my thighs to touch a little. I was thinking maybe this mass builder is what i need, but i dont wanna look like a female body builder (they market it towards the body building type).

Also, i heard somewhere that your body only absorbs so much protein at one time. Anyone have any more facts on that?

I have full experience with mass gainers! I used to be quite underweight naturally no matter how much I ate I couldn't put on weight, this was back when I was like 19ish years old, I went on a "weight gain journey" back then eating protein bars and mass gainer shakes, this helped me pack on the weight bringing me to a very healthy but curvy weight(back then), the myth is that these will somehow make you muscular but it's just that, a myth lol you can't become muscular if you don't work out or don't already have that structure inbuilt into your genetics, I was always very petite boned and didn't work out whilst taking it and just gained weight from it  Smile so don't worry! You won't be a bodybuilder haha. It's good stuff if you need or want the weight gain, just keep in mind you can't always make the fat go where you want, this is partly genetics but also your hormone profile's doing. Yes your body can only absorb so much protein all at once, what usually happens if protein is taken in excess is the extra that isn't utilised will be stored as fat hence the "mass" gainer title. Bodybuilders use this during the "bulking" phase which is where they actually want to gain fat, because they then go onto the "cutting" phase which is working on turning that extra bulk into extra muscle.

Your body can absorb most of the protein you consume, but it's not really a matter of absorption, it's more to do with utilisation. When it comes to your body's daily building and repairing of muscles there's a limit to how much protein is beneficial in a single meal, although if you're very active or you're trying to build muscle you are likely to benefit from a higher protein intake than would otherwise be the case.

What I meant was your body won't utilise all the protein and turn you into a manly bodybuilder physique as she's worried about if you don't work out on it, it will simply turn into fat stores not increase muscle mass without exercise
