herbal program - Waxingmoon? Wahaika?

I actually ordered the 90-day program from Greenbush and am starting the herbs slowly, one herb at a time, and then building up to three of each as suggested. The primary herbs are Fenugreek, Saw Palmetto and Wild Yam, with some loose fennel which is supposed to be used for tea.

I am getting confused, however. I see that many people do use Saw Palmetto while others don't. Wild Yam also doesn't seem to be that popular. Yet, I thought the Greenbush program was supposed to be a well-regarded program to start that leaves out some of the confusion when starting NBE.

Is Saw Palmetto an herb that should be avoided? Is Wild Yam a good all-around herb for breast tissue growth?

Is the Greenbush program a good place to start?

Is there any hope in building breast tissue with this program when I went through menopause five years ago?? Or do these herbs work primarily only in pre-menopausal women?

55 years old

Brava hasn't done much after 40 weeks!!!
On low dose, natural hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) and thyroid (now going on 5 months)
Eat well, exercise, stayed the same weight since high school (5'8", 123 pounds). I know this sounds super thin but I have never been any larger.
Nursed three children successfully with an abundance of milk. Breasts went up to size C but right back down to nothing.

Can I actually grow some breast tissue at this age?

Roakie,

Yep, you can grow at your age. In fact some things are out of the way for you that may make it easier. Others in your shoes have grown. Jelly and surf come to mind. Surf grew 5 inches.

In my opinion, Greenbush is the best program, but it is best done when coming up on spring. The time to start a program and expect good results is in March. The more I see women using Greenbush herbs, the more I wonder if they are actually using the 90 day kit and are including wild yam in their programs. It takes all three, and massaging the herbs directly into the skin followed by heat to work well. Then there's the ever present wild card of every woman being hormonally different in some way. This is not a trivial problem, but can be worked out.

>>"Is Saw Palmetto an herb that should be avoided? Is Wild Yam a good all-around herb for breast tissue growth?"

No, yes.
The more I look at this the more I am convinced that 1) some weight gain is to be expected unless one is exercising to keep it off, 2) the time of year to grow is actually short (only about 5 months) and in the months approaching winter and during winter the body is trying to pack on weight but "saw palmetto" gets the blame, as does fenugreek when women get high free testosterone symptoms.

>>"Is the Greenbush program a good place to start? "

Yes, but not until spring - or at least after the winter solstice. While not optimal, January 1st or February 1st is OK to start a program. But March is the best month.

Two of the best growers on this board are Surf and Jelly. Surf was post menopause and grew 5 inches. I am pretty sure that Jelly was too. Take a look at surf's program. It is extremely well done and illustrates the additions to Greenbush's program that should be there.

I am very confused. I looked at Surf's program and I notice she did not use Wild Yam, only sporadically used Fenugreek (often replaced by Fennel) and seemed to have higher dosages of Saw Palmetto. This seems different from the Greenbush program of Fenugreek, Wild Yam and Saw Palmetto, 3 x per day. Also, you mentioned on another thread that she was in menopause, but she states she is only 41. Is this the same program you were thinking of?

Do you think I can just go with the simple Greenbush program at this point, taking each herb 3 x per day and perhaps mixing some Fenugreek extract with light lotion to apply to my breasts in place of massage for now?

Also, I have researched GABA and come up with conflicting information about it's safety. Do you have any input?

Thanks for your help.

Yep, Surf is who I was thinking of. She was 42 at the time and was in perimenopause. Sorry about that. But regarding BE, perimenopause is worse than menopause. Jelly (almost 50 at the time) also used GABA, among other things, and had good results.

I am finding as I read more and more that GABA is a good thing to use for women who need growth hormone support. Other things that could be used are 5-HTP (serotonin support, therefore GH support) and possibly DHEA for women who are not borderline high androgens.

Wahaika, this is a bit off NBE topic, but do you happen to know if there is any way to forsee and evaluate the risk of growing taller from taking GABA, other than age? I'm 24 and thinking of trying GABA, don't want to grow taller but I understand the growth plates may already or may not yet be closed at this age.

Hi Moon,

Yep, as I understand it growth plates are closed for girls at the end of puberty around age 18. You cannot grow taller once growth plates are closed. GABA will not make you taller.
