I was a B@#ch for the whole time I was on it. BUT it did fill out my boobs somewhat. I only took it for like a month or so. UMMM, maybe you won't have that adverse reaction to it and maybe give it a try. Good luck, baby!!!!

Ah yes, my dear friend Maca...
The advice on that site is pretty good, but he has the amounts way out of proportion. His advice with progesterone cream could be too much. It is also not a good idea to always apply it to the breast or any area constantly. This will lead to lower absorption. Your best absorption with progesterone cream is on thinned skinned areas. You are wanting it to go directly into you system and not be stored in fatty areas. This makes the breast a less ideal candidate, but if you are very low fat in the breast area you can certainly use it there. I would say only once every 3 days would be the best idea.
Also, the amount of maca he recommends is huge. 3 - 6 tablespoons??? I guess he is talking about the ungelatinized root because that amount in any concentrated form would throw you into stalling so fast...
For everything we put into ourselves we should be striving to use the least amount to achieve the effect we seek. Slathering on the progesterone cream and chowing down on maca will NOT promote good health.
By the way maca did not seem to do anything for my breasts, but it did have an astounding effect on my rump. I must have gone up at least 2 butt/cup sizes after less than a month of use. I was using a gelatinized form and taking about a half tablespoon full per day. Bammo!!! my buttocks runnethed over... and I must say, much to my dismay, I have kept that enhancement... lol.
So, maca - tastes pretty good, sort of smokey flavored. Try it if you like but be sure to watch your back(side).
Best wishes,
waxingmoon

Waxingmoon, I do not have an interest in boosting the size of my buttocks - nooooo thank you! In fact, I was hoping the progesterone cream would inspire a decrease in its size, because all the working out I do is not helping a bit!
Thanks all for your experiences with Maca. It doesn't seem to be helping anyone in the boob area, so I'll pass. I'll start on the progesterone in a couple of days.
Waxingmoon, glad to know I can use the cream on the breasts. I thought I read you saying (in another post) that it isn't a good idea. After breastfeeding 4 kids for a total of (blush) almost 10 years, there is no fat left - only a hanging nipple, a raisin on a plate. I will be sure to rotate and rub on the breasts every four days.
Thanks again! I'll keep you updated on my progress.

HI Fengshui,
The brand of maca I used was Navitas and it was a gelatinized powder, which concentrates the maca much like an extract concentrates an herb. It was a fairly pleasant smokey tasting powder that I mixed in with my morning protein drink.
When I first used maca I used about a tablespoon full per day. The package instructions say to use 1 - 1.5 TEASPOONs per day (this was during my 'more is more' phase). Needless to say I was overdoing it and that as much as anything brought out the 'caboose' effect.
I stopped for many months but since I had most of the bag left I decided to use it up, but at much smaller quantities. I also used it only during the first 12 days of my cycle in the thought it would be less likely to interfere with my progesterone production. The second time I used it there was no further 'rumpage' effect. I cannot say it did anything for my breasts -but maybe some small effect - I was doing several things at the same time.
As far as the breath - according to my husband it was very notable and was somewhat impervious to toothbrushing. In other words it would come back rather quickly (I was haunted by the dragon breath). This too was not a problem the second time I used it at the smaller quantities.
Hope this has been helpful,
waxingmoon

I'd be careful about applying the progesterone cream to the chest area if I were you.....Based on my experience from doing that, as well as others that I've heard, they got smaller.....It was very frustrating. I just applied it to my wrists...then the next day behind my knees...then third on the bottom of my feet....in the middle on the thin skin that you don't walk on. Then I rotated. This made them swell....of course I was a good candidate for progesterone cream too.

Hi Everyone,
I just want to make something clear about progesterone cream. It is not an NBE substance. It is a hormone that can be useful in balancing estrogen dominance. Applying progesterone cream to the breasts is not an effective NBE method. (in other words if you are using progesterone cream just to grow breasts, you are using it for the wrong reasons)
The best places to apply progesterone cream are thin skinned areas with high blood supply. We want to get the progesterone cream into circulation - not have it stored and inert in our fatty tissues. For some women, the chest area around the breasts is very thin skinned with little fat supply. This makes the area a good place for application. Since we need to rotate to a new area of thin skin each time we apply, a woman can quickly run out of areas. The best places I found were - backs of hands, inside of elbows, front and back of the neck, behind the knees, tops of the feet, between the toes, and yes, the area of my chest around the breasts.
There is however one reason a woman may want to actually apply progesterone cream to the breast itself. One of the symptoms of estrogen dominance is a tendency toward fibrocystic breasts. Progesterone cream can resolve this problem. I used it for this reason and it was very effective in resolving a fibrocystic area in one of my breasts. I applied the cream every third day to that breast.
Hope this sheds some light on the whole progesterone cream/breast situation,
waxingmoon

Just finished reading the article in the original post... Now I am so confused! I am taking estrogenic herbs right? (FG, SP)? And soy products are also estrogenic? But the article seems to put estrogen in a bad light (cancer-related, decreased libido & fertility, stores fat below the belly-button, etc.) and the article puts progesterone in a good light (increased libido, increased fertility, breast growth, etc.?)? So have I been going about this program all wrong?
I am sure nbe programs are all dependent on each individual's hormone balance or imbalance. I still don't know if I'm estrogen dominant or deficient. The online tests make it very unclear, and I can't very well take a saliva test because the herbs I'm taking will skew results anyway, right?
Anyway, I still don't get what is Maca Root and how it differs from the estrogenic herbs I'm taking. I tried a google search and got dizzy. Could anyone post the info they have about Maca on the "Information about Herbs" section please?

Waxingmoon - I have read that you gained quite a bit of a bottom when you took maca and I am somewhat interested in gaining a bit more bottom. I'm slender, but my hips are somewhat wide and my butt, well, somewhat...flat. haha. I would like to increase my butt some to balance those out. My question is this and it's a little personal, so you don't have to answer, but here it is: when your butt grew did it gain cellulite as well, or just get larger? While I would love a larger butt, I don't want to gain a dimpled one. Also, I'm taking vitex and progesterone cream to treat ED, is it ok to take Maca with these? I don't want to interfere with these because I've read on here that taking certain herbs can interupt the effectiveness of vitex, which I don't want to do.

When you say Maca made your butt 2butt-cups bigger ...*lol* (that is CLASSIC!!)...
did you grow in width or volume? I.e - did your butt get wider or more bubbly?
I ask because I am not nearly as curvy as I'd like to be and I think a round of Maca would do me well.
In addition to having small breasts, my hips are incredibly narrow and my butt is mostly bottom with little upper volume.
So if you don't mind sharing the details.. I'd love to know.

Maca - if only I had known you would haunt me so...lol.
Okay let's see if I can bring light to the major questions...
How does Maca work? Is it like other estrogenic herbs? From what I have been able to find (and mind you this is not very much because it seems the only people talking about maca are those who are selling it - and I could find no reliable studies regarding it)- maca is a precursor to other hormones. It does not provide the hormones directly, but gives your body something it needs to make hormones.
They call it an 'adaptogen' which is a horrible way to describe it because it is not like it is going to 'adapt' and make every hormone - the only hormones it seems to promote are testosterone and estrogen. (calling it an adaptogen also makes it seem 'smart' - as if it decides for you what you need - a little Einstein of the herbal world - much like thinking a thermos is smart because it knows whether something needs to be 'hot' or 'cold' ... but I digress...) This puts it in a class of herbs similar to fenugreek which is a steroidal saponin - something that does not provide hormones directly but acts as a precursor to hormones.
If Maca indeed has some intellect then what it decided for me is that I did not have enough ballast in my trunk. Stupid Maca!!
Since everyone is asking... let me describe for you my buttocks...
Pre-maca they were rather slight with very little fat - almost no cellulite and a small but firm muscular shape - not anything that got much notice and they definitely fit my telephone pole shape. They also fit into size 4 pants very easily. I was definitely a 'small' in pants size.
Post-maca (and we are talking about a time span of less than 30 days) - they stuck out. They were no longer going to go tamely into the pants I used to wear. They were a wild horse that did not want to be broken. They whinnied and pawed the air. At least that is what it felt like to me. A casual observer (which if I pause to think about this is going to make me feel rather creeped out - just who is this 'observer') would notice that the 'upper pole' of my buttock had been enhanced. I was not 'wider' in measurement - my butt cup was bigger. So from the front it was nearly the same as before, but from the side I had developed a 'shelf'. (seriously I just about gave myself a neck cramp looking at my self in side view ... it was hilarious).
There was not an apparent increase in cellulite. I had gained less than 5 pounds of weight. I was however, no longer the slim girl I was... my butt had become Amazonian. Yes, 'pert' would be a descriptive term.
Personally I just try to ignore it since it was not a personal goal of mine. Mind you I don't mistreat it, but I also don't appreciate it as much as I should... it's like I won the 'butt lottery' and I am squandering my winnings...
Will Maca enhance YOUR butt? Only nature knows that one. I may be the only person on the planet that got this effect. I can tell you this - it did not seem to enhance my upstairs apartment (the poor things sitting empty while the downstairs got a makeover... sniff). I must mention that one of the things I was doing during all this Maca effect was a bunch of leg presses at the gym. This type of exercise is known to enhance the butt muscles... so it wasn't only maca - yet it wasn't only the exercise either.
Will Maca hurt you? If you use a reasonable amount of it there is probably no greater risk than with any other herb.
Good luck to all you 'butt' seekers. I hope you attain what you are looking for.
Best wishes,
waxingmoon

Is my conclusion correct that MACA can 'balance' hormones again, without actually putting hormones (or hormone like stuff) in your body?? I am thinking about taking MACA to get my cycle back. What do you girls think?

(Login tits2b) wouldn't mind a bigger butt,......... August 24 2008, 6:57 AM
just wondering, did it make you put on weight anywhere else, the maca root? cos i really wouldnt mind a bigger butt, long as it doesnt hit my wastline or belly! (my boy is into bootys, mines pretty ghetto booty as it is, but its mostly muscle right now, so some flesh wouldnt hurt!)
anyone have any probems with maca root and belly/waist gain?

(Login lilmsb) Hey Moon.. I'd love to know September 2 2008, 7:13 AM
Thanks!
Kae

Best wishes,
waxingmoon

Hi, waxingmoon, thank you so much for your info!!! I have decided to give maca a try, hopefully I get lucky (or in your case unluncky?) like you gain a couple cups of butt.LOL
So, I found two different kind of packages from Navitas maca gelatinized powder, one is bagged, one is jared/bottled (the contains seem the same). Which kind did you use? Did you gain at the waistline, too? (I hope not
Hopefully I won't bother you more with maca questions. haha.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Hi Fengshui,
I got the bagged powder. It was actually rather pleasant tasting. I added it to my morning protein drink.
Good luck - may your 'end' justify your means... lol.

I have been taking maca twice a day in my chocolate milk drink and it doesn't taste bad at all. I just started last week and did it for 6 days straight. my measurements haven't changed but they look bigger and definitely feel sore and itchy. I had to stop using it for a few days just to give my breasts a rest. But I def. think it's doing the job. Not using anything else but massage with borage oil and a heating pad. I'm using the maca magic brand.

Since I have been messing up my cycle with phyto-estrogens, I am looking for a way to get things balanced again before I decide how to continue on my booby journey.
I am trying to find info on MACA, but as Waxingmoon already stated above, most info comes from the sellers...
Is my conclusion correct that MACA can 'balance' hormones again, without actually putting hormones (or hormone like stuff) in your body?? I am thinking about taking MACA to get my cycle back. What do you girls think?
I'm not really thrilled about the bigger-butt-thing though, since mine is already quite present as it is lol. But I would do more cardio to try and keep that under control
