Question for Anyone on Vitamin Power

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question about Nature's Harbor and Vitamin Power... I know both brands are marketed by the same company--D&E or DNE, and are the same dosage and amount of capsules, but I was wondering why NH was so much cheaper than VP? Well I got my bottle of NH today and the bottle says that the cows are raised in Denmark, but the website said that they are raised in New Zealand or Australia. And the VP brand says that their cows are raised in New Zealand or Australia as well.

I did some quick research and found that Denmark was one of the regions with the highest percentage of mad cow disease. Do you think that NH is so much cheaper because their cows come from Denmark? I was a little perplexed when I saw that the bottle listed a different place than the website. Also, does your VP bottle say New Zealand or Australia? I'm trying not to worry about this too much, but my imagination is starting to run away! I think I might play it safe and switch to VP...

Take care,
Amanda

Try emailing Fawn and ask her. She is on the BE Board. I dont think my bottle of VP says anything about the cows, only the website where I ordered them mentions where the cows come from.

My VP bottles all state from New Zealand. That's very interesting though about a different origin site. Before panicing though, ask if the bovine sources are vegetarian fed and free range.

One of the main sources of mad cow, was (and is) the disgusting lack of ethical raising and slaughtering of meat sources. The cows in the US (ORGANIC CATTLE RANCHERS ARE AN EXCEPTION AND NOT INCLUDED) are fed ground up animals, mixed in with other noxious ingredients such as manure, sawdust, ground bones, hormones, penicillin, antibiotics, etc, etc, etc. If you're wondering what kind of animals are fed to cattle, you'd be surprised to learn then....cats and dogs from rescue shelters, sheep, chicken, pig, other cows! Mad Cow disease is a form of ensephelitis (brain infection) which is a result of all the unfit practices of cattle processing. You'd be shocked at how many "under-the-table" deals are made with fast food chains to keep the issue under wraps.

I don't eat red meat at all. I only eat fish, and organic produce, eggs (vegetarian fed). It might sound contradictary for me to take BO, but I am fully confident of the source from New Zealand. They are free range; vegetarian fed; and meet the strictest of guidelines. I'm also not eating the flesh.

Let us know what info you get back on this. I don't want to order from Nature's Harbor, if I can't confirm the source. If they sound shady about giving you their source, then I would ask for a refund definitely.

I have the DNE/Nature's Harbor brand and it does say derived from govenment inspected, range-fed animals raised in Denmark without hormones or antibotics.

Hi everyone,

Thanks a lot for the informative advice, Organic Angel. I didn't want to panic or put anyone else at alarm so I figured I would just go with the brand that seems the safest. I'm going to speak to the company today or tomorrow when I get a chance.

Hi Holly, yes the bottle says Denmark but my complaint is that the website for NH says New Zealand which is the safe region and Denmark is the unsafe region. Their information is contradictory and that's what seems shady. It does say that the animals are range-fed without antibiotics which is fabulous, but I want to ensure that the cows are coming from the safest region and I'm annoyed that the actual label does not hold true to what they stated on the website.

Thanks and good luck to all. I'll keep everyone posted when I hear from them.
Hugs,
Amanda

Amanda,

I totally agree that they should not be miss leading people on their web site. Let me know what they have to say about it. Holly

SENIOR MEMBER I called NH January 28 2007, 3:58 AM

Hi ladies,

I called DNE and the lady I spoke with was very nice and willing to find the answer to my question. I asked her if the bovine ovary for Nature's Harbor came from cows raised in Denmark or cows raised in New Zealand or Australia like the website promoted. She returned my call after doing some research and said that the cows are from Denmark, confirming what the label on the bottle said. She also thanked me for letting the company know about the contradiction and informed me that they will be changing the information on the website. She also said that she will refund me the money once I return the unopened bottle.

I hope this is informative for everyone. Once I receive a new product I always try to study it and make sure everything looks ok.

Best to all,
Amanda

Thank you for following up with DNE about the origin of the cows for their BO. I've been doing fine with their BO so I guess I'll keep taking it. Good luck with your breasts growing journey. Wink

Happy BE

Wow, atleast they are honest. I'm going to keep mine for now though. Did someone say that the vitamin power pills are made from the same company?

bo is bo. There shouldn't be any difference. Also, I don't think anyone here has taken both brands so it's hard to make a comparison. btw, congratulations on your recently growth. 1" in 2 weeks! you go girl...
