Kind of off-topic newbie question about periods and 'cycling'

#1

Hey all,

I have been stalking this forum for some time without posting. Have not really committed to NBE outside of a little massage and some hugely inconsistent noogling..

But I have a question that is kind of unrelated since so many of you seem soooo knowledgeable about your own bodies,

I read a lot of you posting about cycling and all sorts of things as to when 'the best' time to have certain herbs is etc..

My period has ALWAYS been irregular and really few and far between.. For example, my last period was in November. When it does arrive, it can be super heavy 10 day type thing or a few days of a dischargey spotting (sorry for potential visuals :/).. how would this affect herbs and things? I tried taking fenugreek for about a week or two but felt like it was making me gain weight around the tummy even in that short time and that is definitely not my goal!

I have tried googling different combinations of words to try and find out what is up with my lack of periods/regularness and NO I am definitely NOT pregnant.. and have no idea. Wasn't really sure where else to ask..

I have mentioned this to a doctor and will be having a blood test soon to check hormones but wouldn't mind doing some research aswell.. but don't know where to start..

Any help is much appreciated pls..

sounds like you are estrogen dominant.. anytime there are irregular/heavy/painful periods it could very well be estrogen dom, if that is the case I would stay away from estrogen based herbs such as PM, fenugreek, stuff like that..

take a look at this link: http://www.breastnexus.com/showthread.php?tid=21602

anything phytoestrogens might cause your cycle to mess up even more- I am estro dom as well and PM made my boobies shrink and caused a lot of bleeding- thats what happens when you have too much estrogen. It could be from PCOS or a few things:

if I were you I would look into P based herbs like chasteberry, maybe a progesterone cream. Thats what I use & it works so much better for me / estro dom girls Smile

you could try estrogen herbs to see how it would work for you, you never know, i'm not saying that this could happen bc you don't know for sure if your estro dom, only doctors can tell you that.. but if you do notice late periods or irregular bleeding or your cycle getting worse while taking E herbs, that tells you something. PC might actually help regulate your periods.. chances are doctors will try to give you birth control, they give that stuff out like candy these days!

I think you should really commit to NB a bit more Smile its a long process that needs to be done everyday/daily, I think you could see real results in time Smile

So I got the results back, turns out I have PCOS with a very slightly higher than normal level of testosterone, other hormones apparently fine.. so I am now going to look into that.. so my question now is, is it better to try and find some way to reduce my testosterone, or should I just increase estrogen/progesterone/both?

I recently bought booby stacked cream though haven't used it yet as I was waiting for my results, didn't want to use fenugreek based if I am estrogen dominant but since I am not gonna try go ahead with that..

im pretty sure boobystacked is filled with chemical preservatives, id stay away from that if that's the case, your boobs will absorb all that crap if directly applied.

Im no herb expert but saw palmetto is now being used to treat pcos, why don't you google into that. Then consult a local health shop and see what they say? If you do go down that track maybe focus on that on its own. SP alone has girls growing breasts and you know now what your issue is.
