I am wondering if it is ok to take all3 together. Will it give a better effect or will they cancel each other out? Will it help with NBE to take all 3?

Thanks.

Hey,TinaZ! I was recommended by Moon to take collagen supplements for my stretch marks.Hydrolyzed collagen can be very expensive,so I done a little research on my own.A lot of the ladies on here take gelatin,as you already know.I think you will be just fine with the MSM and gelatin. The reason I think this is that gelatin, when ingested, produces protein and collagen. That's why so many people that do the chicken feet have success,as well as the ones that take gelatin-----whether it be in envelopes, powder, pill form, etc.
I did not have time to look for chicken feet as well as make it.I was going to buy gelatin in envelopes, but it was going to be more expensive. So,I lucked up and found gelatin caps 650 mg at CVS.It says to take 2 caps after each meal AND at bedtime-----what the? That's 8 more pills-----hell no! I am only taking (2) per day and it is working just fine, especially seeing that I am going to add MSM.I have gotten more fullness since adding and along with my skin brushing.I do the skin brushing at night w/my last massage before applying heat and some after. These 2 pills are 1300 mg a day.I think you are small framed? I think I remember seeing that on your program page. So,that will be enough. On the back of the bottle,it states that is related to hydrolyzed collagen. My health food store sold the hydrolyzed collagen for $25 for a months supply, according to suggested doses. The gelatin caps at CVS are $4 bucks w/ tax.I will get a 50 day supply.Hope this helps. If I'm wrong in advice----someone please call me out on it.I don't want to give bad advice. But,the gelatin caps are working great with my stretch marks and my smile lines are improving,so that is an added plus.Good luck!

Collagen and gelatin are degraded down to the same building blocks in the intestine so it makes no difference. Gelatin is cheaper.

Thanks girls!

I tried chicken feet soup and I was feeling fuller, but I ate it off within a few days! Mmmmm good!
I may try all 3 at the recommended doses and see if it helps.

I have been just taking 3 grams of MSM for now. I think it has been helping with my stretch marks because that is my purpose for using it.

I've been questioning whether gelatin (or collagen) is really as effective as CFS, as I hear a lot more positive reports about CFS than about gelatin. It'd be interesting if you did try both and could compare what you felt made more difference, so do please report to us how it turns out.

Good question tinaz!!!What I'm thinking is if MSM makes your body produce more collagen, by taking extra collagen/gelatin; will your body decides not to produce anymore collagen??? Maybe the body will decide not to do the extra work of producing its own collagen since they are getting it freely from elsewhere...just wondering...can anyone more knowlegdeable throw some light on this, pls??

Oh no Mel, it doesn't work that way. The body gets no actual collagen in with diet because collagen is a complex protein and all proteins get digested into aminoacids and short peptides in the gut. So that is what you body absorbs - building blocks for collagen. That deffinitely does support collagen production in the body to have the material, but you need sth else to stimulate the sythesis itself, like vitamin C or MSM.

Thanks for clarifying that, Moon...I bought some gelatin powder a while back but was thinking of taking it when I'm on a break from MSM...lol...

MelC, I've read somewhere that Organic Apple cider vinegar helps with gout...lemme get you the link...It's a great site with natural cures for almost every little diseases; unfortunately not NBE though...lol...

Can anyone please tell me what MSM is? I looked through some of the program pages and don't see it mentioned and tried the newbie forum, also did a search on the forum. This has been driving me crazy for a while now. I need an alternative to CFS, considering I have a week stomach and this is not the ideal food for me to eat. Even if I started eating it after a month I would decide I can't do it anymore, so I need an alternative. And MSM is a mystery to me!

Hi Mel C! I was wondering what brand of gelatin caps do you use? I'm inspired by your reported results on the improvement of your stretch marks!

Thanks so much!
Melissa.

Would taking MSM have the same effect on strech marks?

Which Palmer's cream were you using Mel?

Thanks

Hey,Boobliss! I am using generic CVS Pharmacy brand.Very affordable.

Sandy----I was not sure if you were responding to me or Mel,but I am using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion for stretch marks w/ collagen, elastin, and shea butter. It is a small bottle,it costs less than $5,and it does not take much at all.
