I'm vegan though I stay far away from soy. It has too many anti-nutrients and is terrible for the thyroid.
There are plenty of other phytoestrogen foods like -
Flax Seeds
Sesame Seeds
Sunflower Seeds
Pomegranates
Oats

		Hi Miranda -
I used to stay away from soy because I don't care for the taste. I recently began to use it because of the high protein concentration, not for the phytoestrogen qualities. I started doing a very intense yoga program and if I didn't consume a protein drink after, I had muscle pain and soreness constantly.
I don't want to mess up my thyroid in the long run. I would avoid it if I could, but consuming a high amount of oats and nuts after a workout did not really alleviate my muscle pain at all. If you have any other suggestions I would love the help? Maybe some other non soy bean dish that would work as breakfast?
I use oats and flax whenever I can, so it's good to know they might help.
