I haven't had fat transfer, but I've read a lot of research articles on it. I would highly consider a different surgeon as it does not sound like your doctor is up on the latest techniques and research. Tissue expansion prior increases fat survival to around 80% I believe. I'd have to look up the exact numbers. There has also been a lot of research on the importance of how the fat is removed and processed using liposuction. I wonder how up to date your physician is on those critical things if he is not up to date on tissue expansion. Just my thoughts. Best of luck!
