I don't think taking both would mess you up, but taking either one by itself could. You can use fenugreek all month since it's also an adaptogen. Fennel is for prolactin so you could only use it during luteal, but it's so weak that you could also use it all month too without disrupting anything. By itself after several months maybe, but with other herbs the other herbs will win out. Likewise neither fennel nor an adaptogen is strong enough to counterbalance PM.(06-08-2014, 05:16)surferjoe2007 Wrote: Ya wild yam / diosgenin is not progesterone at all, but diosgenin has its own effects on various hormones including progesterone and others. The most abundant saponin in fenugreek is also diosgenin btw and ditto for it.
I am thinking of getting PC for my luteal phase just to speed things up with the PM that I'm using during my follicular. I also plan to take fenugreek and fennel tea during luteal...but PC would be more convenient.
My only concern is that, right now, as far as I know, my hormone levels are pretty balanced. Would using PC for NBE make my body rely on it (for a long time, or forever!!)?
Because I keep reading that it's mostly for perimenopausal women, or those with PMS symptoms, and I have none of that thankfully....I just don't want to mess up my hormones if there is no need. At the same time, I like the idea of PC making my estrogen receptors more sensitive to PM etc.
So, would using PC make my body a bit over reliant on it? Or would my body readjust itself once I stop NBE?
Help oh brainy peopleTIA
