I also suddenly had a growth spurt of about an inch my first year of college. It was weird. But as I am now all of about 5'3", I'm glad. I had a friend from grade school, whose Mom had a growth spurt at age 35. I guess her body was inspired by her teenage kids trying to catch with her. :]
