Here is something to think about, from my own observations.
I work in a large production facility, ( 150+ employees ), so typically this is what I notice day to day.
If a guy falls out with another employee, ( male or female ) he can still respect that person and be civil around them. ( they still wont like each other, but they can still work together )
If a woman falls out with another employee, ( male or female ) she will try her best to ignore the person she has fallen out with, to the point of that person no longer exists. If she cannot ignore that person, there will be a cat fight. ( They don't like each other, and have to be separated )
To your original question.
A guy will normally try and be civil and still show respect from a distance, and yes, there is a good chance he may be doing it so he has a back up plan for a booty call. But if your going to pop around, you better call first.
It seems totally weird and hard to understand, as a normally males are not good at the communication level, were as women are.
