That's scary, lol. Maybe the capsules also had fillers like magnesium stearate or something like that. My powder is 100% pure and contains no fillers. Its just quite gritty, but thats no problem. I am going to take 1 tsp per day = 3500mg.
I don't want to take more as I read too much MSM can make your skin break out (detox symptom) and I don't need that at the moment since my skin is not the best as you know.
