As for the edges of the silicone rims strangely digging into your skin (I say strangely because the edges are flimsy and soft, so you wouldn't think they'd do this)- I've tested out a few things to help stop this. On me, it only does this between my Breasts & no where else. But I've also had marks other places and was also getting tiny sweat blisters (that didn't hurt) and bumps. So I went to the drugstore and bought several different things to try out. The best thing Ive found that completely stops the digging into my skin, and as an added bonus, somehow has stopped the tiny blisters and bumps too, is this: it's fully flexible, breathable unstretched gentle tape and its 2" wide.

Make sure it's this kind and not any other kind of medical tape because I've tried other kinds and no, they do not work. Only this kind works. You can use other brands, just make sure it's this same type. It sticks to itself, not your skin, it's very stretchy and breathable. It's about the same color as an ace bandage. It's actually pretty amazing because it still allows the domes to fully stick/seal. When you take your domes off, disconnect the smart box first and allow the domes to decompress before pulling them off of you. After a pumping session, this tape will somewhat stick to you, but nothing like a bandaid does. Pull it off and voila! No dig marks, no bumps! No need to remove the sticky stuff from your domes either if your skin has reacted to it- put this between the rims and your skin.
When I'm done pumping, I remove the tape, dip it in alcohol, wipe my rims & domes with alcohol and lay the tape flat to dry. It's sticky the following night so I can reuse it. You might want to only reuse it for maybe a week before using new strips? I don't know.
Make sure you're flipping your rims outward first when putting them on, and also bend over to get all of your breasts in there.
I also don't use the brava filters. I fold up toilet paper and put it in my domes, kind of against the dome at the bottom where the hose attaches. I've read that the filters lower the suction. I haven't even tried them, I just saw someone mention the idea for the toilet paper, so I've been doing that all along.
