IUDs work in 2 ways: mechanically and hormonally. Medicated IUDs release hormone only into the uterus area which thickens the liquid in there to block out sperm. Like copper IUDs, they also block out sperm via mechanical means - but without the copper content, the effect is not as strong. Unlike the BC pill the IUD does not release hormone into your body in general. I know that saw palmetto and the pill don't mix, but that fenugreek, afaik, should be ok.
I would stick to fenugreek and fennel honestly. But if you use saw palmetto or PM, I would double up on birth control by getting the diaphragm or contraceptive gel along with the IUD. Hope this helps.
