I'm not sure if this will translate very well into a picture but what if i tape or somehow adhere half of a ball (that has the diameter of the nipple) like a golfball but made out of a material i can actually slice in half and then i have the concave side in contact with the nipple and on the convex side i can glue some type of small adjustable stem that goes to the internal surface of the cup. That way just the nipple stays mostly in line with the rest of the boob and doesn't have all this force stretching it out. Idk if this came out clear or if it would work or not or maybe if would hurt the nipples like they'd be compessed inside the half-ball, i'm not sure. Just an idea...who knows maybe we can find a way to make it work even better if we put our heads together i've never actually used a pump before so my idea of the mechanics could be way off lol

Well, that might work, but it sounds awfully complicated. And if you're suctioning the nipple inside the half ball, you'd probably stretch it out anyway. A ball or lid would be simpler and more effective, I think.
