I didn't use tape when I first started pumping (actually I was cupping but it's the same sensation). And I noticed my nipples got larger. I could tell because I pumped my left breast more than my right and my left nipple is still larger than the right one (2 years later). I wish I had discovered the tape trick before My nipples were a good size before and now they're too big for my liking.

I started using the ball technique but it didn't really work for me. I think it was because there was a little too much room in the cups and the ball didn't press quite firmly enough against the cups and my boobs inside.

SO I started using tape a few times but it never workeD! They always popped off with the pressure too and then I tried using surgical tape and finally SUCCESS! I always use surgical tape now and havent noticed a difference in nipple size. My areola has gotten a little bigger but it's so negligible that I can only tell when I compare beginning pictures to my current progress and an increase in areola size is unavoidable since your breast is literally stretching and getting bigger.

I cut like a two-inch piece and make sure my nipple is pressed down completely flat.
