I am not sure it has to fit to the base of your breasts to work. As long as you can get an air seal, it should be ok.
I started out with Ls which were too small for the base of my breasts, but I use coconut oil on them before attaching the domes and that gets a good seal.
I over-reacted and because I wanted to expand the base, upgraded to XXLs and almost immediately gave up on them as I could only put on one at a time. Also they are not contoured and it felt like they were trying to crack my ribs at half the suction I was using for the Ls.
I am now using contoured XLs and while they are half empty (the Ls were at 3/4 or so) it seems to be working ok, but I occasionally use the Ls as well.
