I posted the differences between vitex and maca on an earlier post. But in summary, Vitex seems to lower libido (androgens and testosterone), while Maca seems to increase libido. They both balance estrogen and progesterone, but Maca acts on the pituitary gland to release its own hormones. It is not considered a phytoestrogen, because it is like a sweet potato. It is a starchy fruit and the root is picked from underneath the ground. Vitex is an herb where Maca is not. But I would be careful not to try breast enhancment while pregnant anyways because you will lose the growth after breastfeeding.

I don't believe Maca would have any effect on birth control pills, since it does not produce fake estrogens in the body as phtoestrogens do. It just balances hormones. I am not even sure if phytoestrogens would interfere with BCP's since BCP's prevents the ovary from releasing the egg. If in doubt ask your doctor.

I suspect that maca wouldn't interfere with birth control, but as there's no real evidence on this it's impossible to be 100% certain.
