Has anyone tried inducing lactation as a form of enlargement?
February 27 2007 at 8:26 PM Anna (no login)
Probably a weird question, but is anyone familiar with this? There is a lot of information about inducing lactation online if you do a search. It can be done and some ladies do it to nurse adopted children and some ladies do it for personal reasons. I just wondered if anyone has had any experience with it?

Not sure if this would be a good idea somehow.

I reckon one would have to express milk from themselves several times a day otherwise you would engorge which would possibly lead to cysts, mastitist etc.

Have you ever breast fed or been pregnant?

I've had 2 kids but not breast fed. Still, the milk comes in naturally on the 2nd day (if I remember) and it is certainly not pleasant. The pains....the swelling and agony in your armpits, ugh are awful. Your nipples leak, bra gets wet and smells as does your clothes. And all the time you have these constant waves of 'ugh' as the milk continues to flow in. I had to be bound like a mummy in a bandage to try make it stop.

Certainly not something I would want to induce and asides from that, the breast size gained whilst doing it would stop as soon as you came off the hormones so it wouldn't be a permanent thing.

Ooops, don't let this put anyone off breastfeeding. If the milk has somewhere to go to, then you don't get the same discomfort.

Has anyone tried it? Am curious now :-)

Love

=^_^= x

and here's some info on inducing without hormones -

You'd need a real thirsty partner for that one........lolz!

inducing lactation
February 27 2007, 10:14 PM

...i did it...and regret it profoundly!!! am still suffering from the aftermath...i endured mastitis and breast thrush... it was very frightening and embarrassing for me to get help-having to explain the situation to the doctors who were just as freaked out and puzzled as myself...furthermore, my boobs are now saggy and my nipples have somehow shrunk... even though i only did it(suctioning on nipples) once a day or so for a week.... it was the most awful experience i have ever had in my life. my breasts no longer respond in a sexual way anymore... i am struggling with that as well.... can no longer orgasm... it is hellish.

i've been waiting for a chance to discuss this- to warn people -and well- my opportunity has arrived!!!

DO NOT DO IT -UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES-IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!??????!!!!!!!!

Wow! That's horific, I'm sorry to hear of your negative experience. I have breastfed my children quite a few years back, so I'm familiar with what goes on and how much work it can be and how you have to deal with the things you mentioned like engorgement and leakind and all. But I think when you induce lactation outside of to breastfeed a baby it's a little different. Or so I thought from what I've found online about it. You will have to pump if you don't have a partner who's "helping" you with that part of it, not to get too graphic! But it seems as though you can get it down to only having to be done once or twice a day if you want to. Women do it for personal reasons like just enjoying lactating in itself or in an adult nursing relationship, so I was curious if anyone here had experience with it. Well, it seems someone's had a bad experience, I wonder if anyone has had a good experience?

shrinkage?
February 28 2007, 1:26 AM

Doesn't lactation cause shrinkage when you finish lactating, since some of the fat is replaced or something?

Jennie - just wondered when you say your nipples have shrunk - do you mean the areola part - did they go hyper erectile (sort of wrinkly) change colour.
Just curious hope to hear from you all.

Yes, I agree that doing it for enlargement alone would be a bit much. Maybe doing it for other reasons and getting enlargement as a bonus would be a different story. The research I've done says that once the milk does come in it's pretty much a supply and demand situation, just like when you're feeding a baby. And it leads me to believe there's a much smaller amount produced, so I don't think you would have some of the issues as you'd have with baby nursing. And perhaps once or twice a day of expressing the milk would be enough. Weird, but interesting.

Why???
February 28 2007, 7:57 AM

Why on earth would anyone do this in the first place, since this is not any kind of permanent growth? Just a lot of mess if you ask me...

Adult nursing? IMHO Seems to me that would require some serious therapy because it doesn't even sound normal. When I was nursing, my husband wanted no parts of my breasts when my milk would come in, he said it was just unsexy. He didn't mind a little bit if they were uh.......stimulated at certain times, but if they were to actually let down at those times he found it a turnoff.

My suggestion is don't do it. Lactating while nursing is one thing, but not for breast enlargement.

Now the thread began quite intersting, i was intreged, but good god the last thread link, is just wierd.
Each to their own i supose but the fact you have to breast feed the man every day to stop being engorged is just terrible, what if neither person wanted to, and ggese why the hell would you want to in the 1st place????

The only reason i can think i would concider this method is if you had adopted a new born baby, where i think its a rather selfless act, you do it purly for the health of the child, and i supose to "bond" with it.

Jenny-i don't know your reasons 4 doing what you did, but im sorry you had such a bad expereince,it sounds dreadful,i hope things do get betterSmile

Many people would think the same of NBE though, as in wondering why we would endure the pills and the changes to our diet and the massages and creams and everything. Like you said, it's to each his own I suppose. But there is a lot of information on the web about it that does promote what a bonding experience it can be for a couple. Or what a wonderful experience it can be for a woman who just wishes to lactate without it having to do with a partner.

re.areola shrinkage
February 28 2007, 10:59 PM

regarding the question about my remark about my nipples shrinking...so sorry, what i meant was, yes, the areola! at first both areola and nipple BLANCHED overnite- i was freaking out with disappointment and grief- you'd better believe me! fortunately, the colour has returned somewhat, but the areola part IS decidedly smaller and paler than before... this is pretty sad for me(it was already pretty small) so i try not to look at them much anymore. it's just too depressing. at any rate, they are not as nice as they were before... anonymous- do you know why this happened? if you know anything about it, please tell!
the whole reason i got into this mess was because i read somewhere about enlarging your nipples by suctioning them a bit- well- i went overboard i guess and this is what happened....
sigh... i hope too it will somehow improve...it's already been over half a year...
i am currently taking a tincture of saw palmetto three times a day.(that's all i'm taking) it seems to be working... i am experiencing pains and they seem larger and firmer somehow. but will i have to do this forever??? help- it's pretty expensive- i bought a little bottle of tincture and it only lasted a week or so... sigh...
any advice???

Jennie, I'm so sorry to hear this! I'm not sure how or why it happened. With what I've read you can induce lactation by nipple stimulation but it is something that is done on a schedule of maybe 15 minutes on each side a minimum of 3 times per day, and the more often you can do this like up to 8 times per day, the faster the results would be. The milk is supposed to come in slowly, a few drops at first and then increasing based on the schedule of how often and for how long you want to do it. For a couple doing this for example they can get to once or twice a day if that's the minimum they want to do or the woman can use the pump as well. If you're nursing an adopted baby for example of course with milk being made on a demand basis, there would be much more milk with having to feed a baby every few hours. So in your case, I don't know what went wrong. The nipples should have enlarged a bit and the breasts should have eventually enlarged a bit as milk came in if it got to that point. Maybe you just over-did it like you said and had a bad reaction? As hard as it might be, I would probably have a doctor take a look and make sure all is alright if you still haven't gotten back to normal yet and it's been 6 months. The sp tincture is probably a good thing, but individual herbs might be more affordable.

Definitely not worth it. Not even as a last resort.
