new and concerned!
October 2 2007 at 9:37 PM chocoholic (no login)

Hi everyone,

i cudnt create an account-will keep trying! This is my 1st time of trying PM products - i have tried herbs such as sp and fennel before with no success. I am 20 years old, 5'2" and weigh 8.5 stone.

I have puchased B2up capsules - 250mg each and am taking 1 in morning and 1 at night with milk, i am also massaging with PM-UK breast cream.

I do not have periods because i am on the depo contraceptive injection (progesterone) so am wondering if people think it is ok to take 1 capsule morning and night everyday of the month without a break - like st.herb suggest. I have contacted st.herb and PM-Uk but have not heard bk.

I also have PM-UK capsules - to use after, but i hav read on here that they are unnecessarily strong, so am worried about taking them. However i do not want to waste them so what do people think of just taking 1 of these a day and then also a st.herb capsule later so i am not taking a really high dose? I will be choosing st.herb next as this is more talked about!

Sorry for the essay but im concerned about going against the pm directions! i would apreciate anyones ideas/opinions/thoughts!! Thanks so much. Chocoholic!

i dont think you are supposed to be on any kind of birth control if you are taking PM. it wont effect your BC but the PM wont work. i used to be on the depo basically so i could be periodless Smile im finding now that PM either can stop periods or make them shorter and less heavy. i also noticed less cramps

gutted
October 2 2007, 10:40 PM

thanks for your reply, i hav been reading this forum for ages but had missed a previous post saying you couldnt use the injection and pm. I am absolutly gutted as was feeling really positive about pm working as others herbs did not at all. I only had my injection a couple weeks ago so now cannot use PM for months, i dont mind having periods but i dont like the idea of no contraception as too worried of accidental pregnancy!

Thanks again. chocoholic

I know that Depo is different from the pill. All I have read is that it is not ok to use birthcontrol. I don't know if this is just the pill or both. have you heard back from st. herb or p-uk?
I do know that when I was on the shot my boobs increased in size (though I didn't really even realize it), but it was temporary and I was on it for over a year. I gained 20lbs too. I think it would still be best not to be on any synthetic hormones so you will know that the PM (or whatever method you use) is what is causing an increase. Its kind of expensive to risk. Also, if you do decide to stop the shot remember that it will probably take longer than 3 months for it to completely leave your system. Your period will get really messed up. It might even get really messed up if you keep taking injections. I remember right after my 2nd injection I had light bleeding for about 5 weeks. I guess this is a common side effect (that my doctor DID NOT warn me about). Just some info I thought I'd share. Anyway, I would still like to know what the other PM companies say about this. Let me know what they say.

I think its been a week now and I still haven’t heard from either company, so I may try again. Yeah I don’t want to waste money, may speak 2 my doctor but don’t know how they feel bout herbs! I have been on the injection for a year this time, I have previously been on it 4 a year and it took months after to have a period! I don’t want to wait that long!!!

I will keep you posted, thanks

p-uk's reply

I asked p-uk if being on depo will effect the pm from wrking and they sed: "you will normally find that these puerarua capsules will not interact with the depo so you should be fine"

so i emailed again asking why that is as other brands say that bcp effects pm from workin- competing for receptor sites and they replied: "our capsules are pure product where most breast products contain pueraria they only have a very small dose "

so i think this means i should still b able to grow boobies whilst on depo bt cud still make it hard and therefore waste of money - pm-uk is only £10 a month so i supose i cud just try a few months... hmmm!!!

I had to say something regarding some of you guys contacting P-UK and other companies and not getting replies or getting what is paramount to medical advice. This is highly inappropriate on their (the companies) part.

Pueraria UK had told someone that they could safely use their pills with the Depo-provera shots. Well whether or not this is true is not for P-UK to say to customers. The legality of this is highly questionalble. Legally they should have deferred the customer to their doctor's advice.

St herb was contacted too and did not reply as I understood it. (?) Possibly because it is not legal to give what can be construed as medical advice to customers. They may have deferred answering.

As I am one of if not the leading drop shipper for StHerb I will contact them and see what if anything they say about the issue of using with Depo Provera. They may or may not be able to answer. The best thing is to ask a pharmacist, endocrinologist , gynecologist for a definite answer to this tricky one.

My "opiniion" is that because Depo Provera is a synthetic progestin and can convert to estrogens in the body, that NO you should not use with PM. They will have interactions. The Contraception MAY fail or the breast enhancement MAY NOT work or both.

Pueraria Uk had no business telling a customer ANYTHING that resembled medical advice in regards to a product THEY were selling.
