Borax is the brand name. What Borax is is the mineral sodium tetraborate, a boron compound. I have taken borax in water before because it is supposed to flush flouride out of your system and help your thyroid.

Thank you for this post Peggy! I didn't know it helped estrogen levels and will start taking it again! I'm going to do less than 1/8 tsp in water.
