my doctor said I can never go on estrogen. I did ask her about "things like maca" and she said those are totally fine, they don't affect it or raise it enough. But I didn't ask her specifically about PM, etc. I think she basically was like supplements won't raise it high enough to be a problem like supplemental estrogen would.
Well the theory about estrogenic herbs is that they won't raise your estrogen level unless you are estrogen deficient in the first place. That's how it's supposed to work, that you only get an increase in estrogen if you could genuinely do with it and it won't increase your estrogen level if your level is already too high.
Supplemental estrogen is quite different of course, in that it's going to increase your estrogen level regardless, which is why it's often seen as a bad move.
