Hi Kristyn!!
I know that some people on PM that take bcp are cycling (I think one of them is runrabbitrun), and so far I don't think anybody has gotten pregnant, though I do think maybe some of those use an extra form of bc like condoms etc. In my opinion (and to my current understanding) it's risky to cycle PM while on bcp because the bcp stops you from ovulating by keeping your hormone levels at a constant level. If you cycle PM you are likely to override that effect of bcp by making fluctuations in your hormone levels throughout the month, which could induce ovulation. The cycling program that most use here mimics one's natural cycle for those who still have a cycle (those that aren't on bcp).
The benefit of cycling is that you aren't likely to become estrogen dominant, because you would be balancing the estrogen with other hormones like progesterone the rest of the cycle. However, people on herbal programs that don't cycle the herbs usually take a phyto-progestin at the same time as PM, in order to not become estrogen dominant. Right now I am taking a little fennel along with PM, because I got estrogen dominance symptoms. The symptoms are gone now that I'm on fennel, but one has to be careful with dosage in order to not stall ones growth.
I can't personally say anything about bcp and pm not working together, because I've only been on the two for about a month, but several in the programs section have used the two and so far so good.
It is a common opinion on here that you should slowly increase dosage, especially with something as strong as PM, in order to minimize nasty side-effects, giving your body time to get used to it.
I hope that was somewhat helpful!
I think this is what the forum is here for really. People who actually have experience with taking these things might be more helpful than doctors who haven't even heard of it or aren't open to it.
