Jennifer, the information on the web as to which brand is the most effective is so biased that it's useless. And that doesn't include the generics. That's why we're in here, to share our personal experiences. I know that you get what you pay for, but all too often you pay for something but don't get it. It's hard to tell whether something is more expensive because it costs more to produce and is worth it or because the seller is more greedy.
An example is the Brava breast pump. Why on earth is it 3 times more expensive than the Bosom Beauty and 20 times more than the Noogleberry? That difference cannot be design or production costs.
There's a very very old joke about a kid with a lemonade stand, offering lemonade for $75,000 a cup. When asked what she was saving for, she said she wanted to buy a Cadillac for her mom. Upon being told that she'd sell more lemonade if she lowered the price to 50 cents a cup, she replied "Yes, but this way all I have to do is sell one cup."
Businesses do profit analyses (I think that's the plural of analysis) all the time trying to maximize profit. Sell fewer at higher price or sell more at a lower price? Aye, there's the question.
