It isn't that they don't work, it is a case of too much and wasting money. If you are on pills I wouldn't recommend a pm cream more than once a day.
If you already have pills just take them instead. Just for what you mentioned a cream would be more effective than the pill. But the pills do work for this, just not as well as the creams.
Also massage is very useful for lifting.
