Progesterone from WY IS USP. They're the same thing. Just differently worded. Welll. Not exactly the same thing necessarily. USP CAN be from WY, or any other diosgenin source. But USP hormones are ALL synthesized from diosgenin. From WY just means the USP hormone was ONLY synthesized from diosgenin sourced from WY. Why that should matter to anyone, I dunno. Maybe some MFG's think that since some people still think of WY as being special they might sell more if they manage to use it for a talking point?
The only real difference between the USP PC that we buy OTC from folks like Source Naturals or Swanson's and the big pharma stuff is that big pharma likes to try to charge more than anything is worth for absolutely everything.
In fact, on checkout, Swanson's warns you that they might not be able to ship PC to you (several other products as well that are controlled in certain locales).
Luckily for me, in Ohio, for now, at least, PC is not a controlled product... Yet. I'm sure big pharma will have their way about it eventually though and we'll join with the other states to ban it. Well. "Control" it. But what that really means is to ban any PC product that doesn't come from a big pharma company and doesn't cost about 4 times as much as what it should unless you have a prescription and super good insurance to cover the big pharma premium.
For people like me who don't qualify as disabled and therefore can't get state medical but don't earn enough to afford their own insurance premiums? I'll be SOL when that happens.
