@ kaitlyn9: Oh really? well I have been taking my Alesse for years now.. I must say I haven't had any problems with it. It has helped me get rid of acne, and regulate my period.. Though I realized it made me a bit more cranky and I get more cramps on my period...
My doctor told me when I was 15 that the BC will help regulate it, and if I dont fix it, I might not have a chance of getting pregnant in the future

I was put on birth control at 15 too. To help regulate my long periods and for acne. The problem with many BC is that they eventually stop natural hormone production. Young teens getting on the BC because their hormones are crazy (duh) and then don't develop naturally. If you were to get off the BC now you'd probably have extreme breakouts. My holistic doc tested me while on BC. he told me my estrogen production had stopped and my body only had synthetic hormones. He recommended getting off of the BC and eating edamome for the first week after my period. (when estrogen rises in the cycle ) Then a couple times a week for maintenance and do this till you normalize. It worked wonders for me. My periods are great, like 5 days and very regular. And I have very little to no acne.
