I don't know if it's a consensus, but I think it's generally agreed upon that calcium helps with the absorption of PM, or something like that.
As far as calcium from MILK, I've read that the calcium from milk is bad, like it actually makes your body more thirsty for calcium, and your body takes it from your bones, which then makes your bones weaker (sorry for my very simple explanation, I'm no doctor.. but if you Google it, I'm sure you'll find the real explanation). However, cow's milk may be beneficial for NBE, for the calcium, the fat, and the hormones in the cows.
I personally try to get my calcium from a few different sources: fortified OJ, veggies, and dairy.
