It depends. If the homemade Kombucha tea is being fermented for e.g. just a week, it will be more sweet and less vinegary. If you wait 14 days or longer, then it is less sweet and tastes a bit vinegary. But Kombucha is also a bit fizzy and reminds me of sparkling wine. I love it.
