Yes, it is very expensive here. Well depending on where you live. I live in Tokyo, so everything is imported as well as extra hard to grow with the land.
So an example for expensive fruit, they sell $50 mangos! Not for a box of them, for one mango. And the price can be more expensive as well.
So the most I've paid for anything would be 500 yen ($5) for a small carton of raspberries. You know the small plastic cartons they have for raspberries. This thing was halfway filled and was for $5!
Another example would be paying $3-$6 for one bulb of garlic! I usually buy the ones imported from China... which are about 200 yen ($2) for 3. Better than paying $6 for just one. :s
I have to say I miss eating certain foods year round. You have to wait for things to be in season. So I can rarely find oranges throughout the year. Or apples. And they don't even sell all fruits, or at least it's hard to find them. I have never seen fresh blackberries on sell here. I've only seen frozen ones on cakes, but never sold.
Bah I can rant about the prices all day, but then I don't really want to move back to the US, so I have to stick with it.
Oh and good luck on the DIM 4 a day. I just find that it works better for me than when I took only 2 a day.
