New source of bovine ovary.

#1

I usually order my vitamins and supplements from swanson vitamins.
They've recently come up with a line of glandulars. I had emailed them a while back and asked if they were going to expand the line.
Well I got my catalog today....and they finally have.
The pills are 5.99 for 60, 250 mg.

They also have pituitary now.

That's great that they have it, I use to get alot of vitamins and such from them as well, but the thing is, what is their bovine source? Like where are the cows actually from? I would ask that if I were you before buying and taking it. Also it's only 250mg per pill, you'd have to take 6 a day just to get 1500mg, UB is 1620mg per day in 3 pills per day. So you'd have to take double the amount of pills per day and still wouldn't equal the same amount. Okay so taking 6 per day the bottle would only last 10 days. So you would need 3 bottles for 30 days. So you would be paying about $18 per month just for that and it still wouldn't be the same amount of BO as UB. Now I'm not sure how much BO is in BB per day, maybe one of the BB users can ask that. But in my opinion, yes swanson makes good supplements otherwise, but since this is a new product by them is it worth taking? Will it work? And is the source of their BO safe? I believe BB's source is from New Zealand and UB's is from the US. I don't know I still think UB is the better deal as I only have to take 3 pills a day, they do have a money back guarantee if you take advantage of it, they have guidelines for it, and it's basically the same price per month. Ultimately it's all up to you, I'm just saying be careful.

It says the source of their products is Argentina.
I'll continue to use the ultrabreast also, but it is nice to have another choice.
Plus, for the users who just want to use a small amount to bump up or supplement, you can't beat the price.
I'll keep my eye on their reviews. I'll probably order their pituitary though.

Yea the pituitary sounds good to add to a BO program, but does anyone know how much you are suppose to take? I wonder. Swanson also has a long list of glandulars lol I wonder what they are all for? http://swansonvitamins.com/Search?keyword=glandular&doSearch=true&ntt=&n=0&ntk=Level1&x=0&y=0

They even have a glandular blend for women and one for men, I wonder what exactly they do?

I have been purchasing loads of supplement from swansonvitamins, I am so happy they have the new ovarian glandular finally (though I am using BB currently). Thanks for the information. Btw BB cattle is from Argentina same as swansonvitamins. I am currently taking their raw adrenal glandular to treat adrenal fatigue and I must say it has been good so far.

Since BB pills do not list out the exact dosage of each of its ingredient, maybe we can take 2 ovarian glandular x 2 times a day, 1 pituitary glandular x 2 times a day and perhaps 1 kelp separate to 2 times a day. This is just a suggestion. I must go calculate and estimate the cost because after looking into this forum I don't think I want to spend so much on my future NBE using BO. It is just not worth it.

Oooo! Hello whats this? They do international shipping to Japan now. Big Grin
I couldn't order from Swanson before because they didn't ship to Japan.

I think I may change over to their BO. It's about the same price as Raw Female, but RF is mixed with Ovarian and Uterus Tissue, whereas the one they sell is just ovarian.

Thank you for posting this bellalily!Heart

I emailed Swansonvitamins about the source of their BO. Below I quote part of the mail:

"Upon speaking with a knowledgeable Product Specialist, they informed us that the Swanson Premium Raw Ovarian Glandular item #SW1302 is from the United States, with no designation of the age of the animal used. We include the following in our specifications :all bovine-based components must be sourced and processed according to FDA & USDA guidelines and regulations to meet BSE-free requirements. We simply state that “like supports like” with glandular products. Therefore, all we would say is that glandular ovarian tissue is used to support the ovaries. We can’t make any recommendations for medical conditions like endometriosis under FDA regulations since we are not licensed as physicians. "

They replied really quickly to my email (withing 2 hours). They cannot make any recommendations for what the product actually is for, except that 'like supports like'. I guess that means that for example the lung glandular could be used if your own lungs do not work well/you have lung problems. This at least is my understanding. To me glandular therapy remains rather vague thoughDodgy

Anyway, I hope this helps anyone who wants to know more about Swanson's BO or was worried about the source of the ovaries like me.

Okay if their BO source is from US cows why do they say they are from Argentina on the bottles? Seems like false advertising to me!!

From what it looks like from the catalog is that the bo is from Argentina...but processed and inspected in their US plants.
