FAQ-Supplements for Breast Growth

Maybe you have a high metabolism, sometimes testing hormone levels help identify what's deficient. I see you listed a past surgery, was that for a removal of a uterine fibroid?.

I do the hormone test and there is not any problem. My surgery is actually a removal of small lump in chest. That was two years ago. It is called “fibroma” (I just google translate it ) due to the irregular schedule and easy to get angry, but now I am getting much better.

Ok, so it was benign (non-cancerous) right?. Taking PM could prove risky regardless, there's something in PM called genistein that can cause cancer. The info below will be complicated, but it shows what I'm talking about.

Also note that increased consumption of soy products reduces plasma concentrations of estradiol.

Genistein: does it prevent or promote breast cancer?

From pg. 702 Possible Anti-Estrogenic Effects of Genistein

Genistein has significant estrogenic properties in both in vitro and in vivomodels (Table1). Genistein binds to the estrogen receptor(ER), although its binding affinity is several-fold weaker than that of estradiol(30). Genistein can also activate a number of estrogen-responsive genes in vitro, including pS2 and c-fos (18,31). Furthermore, when administered at low doses, genistein stimulates the growth of ER-positive(ER+) breast cancer cells (18-20). Findings in other tissue systems support the estrogenicity of genistein. For example, genistein is uterotrophic in a variety of species, resulting in impaired reproductive activity and increases inuterine wet weights.

Phytoestrogens and diseases of the prostate gland.
In particular, soya contains the isoflavone genistein, a compound with many properties which could influence both endocrine and growth factor signalling pathways.

On the subject of Genistien:

Molecular effects of genistein on estrogen receptor mediated pathways.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8625449
Genistein, a component of soy products, may play a role in the prevention of breast and prostate cancer. However, little is known about the molecular mechanisms involved. In the present study, we examined the effects of genistein on the estrogen receptor positive human breast cancer cell line MCF-7. We observed that genistein stimulated estrogen-responsive pS2 mRNA expression at concentrations as low as 10(-8) M and these effects can be inhibited by tamoxifen. We also showed that genistein competed with [3H]estradiol binding to the estrogen receptor with 50% inhibition at 5 x 10(-7) M. Thus, the estrogenic effect of genistein would appear to be a result of an interaction with the estrogen receptor. The effect of genistein on growth of MCF-7 cells was also examined. Genistein produced a concentration-dependent effect on the growth of MCF-7 cells. At lower concentrations (10(-8)-10(-6) M) genistein stimulated growth, but at higher concentrations (> 10(-5) M) genistein inhibited growth. The effects of genistein on growth at lower concentrations appeared to be via the estrogen receptor pathway, while the effects at higher concentrations were independent of the estrogen receptor. We also found that genistein, though estrogenic, can interfere with the effects of estradiol. In addition, prolonged exposure to genistein resulted in a decrease in estrogen receptor mRNA level as well as a decreased response to stimulation by estradiol.

What does it mean?, At high doses PM will down-regulate, take lower doses and cycle.

Thank you for your useful information.
Yes, it is non-cancer. Does that mean I should take PM for cycle and small doze. Is there any other thing available for me to take in other period ?

My opinion?, I'd advise against using PM, maybe in a few years sure revisit the idea. Pm has side effects, something caused that lump right?, so why take the risk. Seriously, please read the non-herbal NBE thread.

Thank you . But can I take Bustmaxx or Fenugreek ? I do not know if FG will cause cancer, which I hope it might not .

From what I've read Fenugreek protects against cancer. Bustmaxx has fenugreek, saw palmetto, fennel, wild yam, dong quai, blessed thistle, and damiana, PM?, I dunno. I didn't see the amounts of each, basically NBE products. Each herb would need careful research to evaluate any risks associated with known cancer risks.

All of these herbs have been linked in previous posts, if some of the links don't work pleas let me know. Smile check Damiana.

Does that mean I can take FG? I check the website and there is no important side effects of that .Also, due to what I've read on Amazon, the feedback of Bustmaxx is quite good, I am thinking about trying that.

Dong quai might slow blood clotting. Taking dong quai along with medications that also slow clotting might increase the chances of bruising and bleeding. Same thing for saw palmetto, damiana might decrease blood sugar, other issues exist for PM and wild yam And not in a good way.

Quote:WILD YAM SIDE EFFECTS & SAFETY
Wild yam is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken by mouth or applied to the skin. Large amounts can cause vomiting.

Special Precautions & Warnings:
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: There is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking wild yam if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.

Hormone-sensitive condition such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids: Wild yam might act like estrogen. If you have any condition that might be made worse by exposure to estrogen, do not use wild yam.

Protein S deficiency: People with protein S deficiency have an increased risk of forming clots. There is some concern that wild yam might increase the risk of clot formation in these people because it might act like estrogen. There is one case report of a patient with protein S deficiency and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who developed a clot in the vein serving the retina in her eye 3 days after taking a combination product containing wild yam, dong quai, red clover, and black cohosh. If you have protein S deficiency, it is best to avoid using wild yam until more is known.

Fenugreek should be ok for this reason:
