It is inaccurate, though. The band measurement should be taken from the underbust where the band will sit.

But that's not how manufacturers make them. That's why so many people wear wrong bra sizes.

The overbust method is just a more unreliable version of plus 4. It's used to squeeze people into a narrower selection of sizes. For example, I measure 32 overbust and 32.5 bust so the calculator puts me in 32AA even though I completely fill a 32B.

Well, looks like one method does not fit all. I am underbust 34, over 40, which puts me at 38B by underbust method, but for over bust method I am 40AA, which fits me more accurately. My breast are muscular beneath due to my daily exercise, but they are not large. I like them since they fit me well though. See post#68 below for my pic:
