Hi, New to NBE and hopeful!

#1

I've been reading about NBE for awhile. I'm still confused! So much to read and a lot of contradicting info out there.
I'm 35, so old for starting this journey and loads of other stuff too, according to a culture I don't conform to. Smile

I'm currently 5'6" and 117 lbs. My body fat is @21% according to online navy calculator. I was 110 lbs prior to pregnancy. I maintained my weight of 120 lbs after pregnancy for years. I was slim with a flat tummy and very small chest (34 AA) but a nice heart shaped booty. After I hit 30 I had a short love affair with cream liquor with the consequence of quickly gaining 20 lbs. At that point I was 34 B. Still small to most but obviously big for me. I also had a rather big rear and a soft belly. I wanted to lose the belly so I started cardio and weights. Well I've lost the boobs and some butt and belly. However the belly is still soft and fatter than it used to be, even at 120 lbs. I guess they're right you lose the belly fat last. I'd really like to gain some muscle too. I know you have to eat at a surplus for that. I'm worried my belly will get bigger though.

My dream goal is

36"
26"
36"

My current

33"
26"
36"

I'd be happy if waist was a little smaller but 26" is fine. My belly at my navel is 28". I'd love for that to be 26" or so and flatter.

I've bought a lot of stuff. I have natural teas, fenugreek, fennel, red clover, raspberry. Pills, fenugreek, blessed thistle, dong quai, wild yam, maca, and vitex. Also a fenugreek extract. I ordered some pueraria mirifica, not sure when it will get here. I have some pm I ordered already but it is very small dosage and has b vitamins in it too. Wasn't what I was looking for.

I've been doing massage with volufiline lotion after heating pad. Started at once a day three weeks ago, now twice a day most days. I have noticed fullness and better skin. I started taking fenugreek and maca two days ago. My breasts are sore and tender to touch.

I'm really not sure what kind of program to use. I'll admit I like to drink alcohol. I'm worried about that. I drink several days a week, 4-6 drinks. I have issues with daily pain and I've become dependent on the alcohol, unfortunately. I've cut back from daily drinking and hope to continue making strides with that. Not gonna cold turkey.

That's a bit about me. Smile Glad to have found this forum. Best wishes to all.

Hi. Reading about you is like reading about myself!!
Are you a coffee addict too?
What is your daily pain? You can personal message me if you don't want to mention it on this public page.
I drink daily too or more I used too. Have cut down significantly actually :s
Don't take too many herbs straight off the bat. They can upset your system and you want to be able to pinpoint which ones work or don't work. I'd start real simple.
Read through many threads programmes etc. Everything is soo overwhelming initially.

Hi ellacraig!

I used to be a coffee addict. I rarely touch it now. I drink a lot of decaf green tea and homemade decaf kombucha. I do drink caffeinated green tea too, usually 1-2 cups a day.

My pain is likely originated from scoliosis. I have shoulder pain, neck pain, tense muscles, tension headaches. My periods are also way more painful than they used to be and I get bladder spasms, mostly around that time. I had a bladder infection, likely viral according to the urologist, that took months to clear. The spasms started after that. It's much better now that a lot of time has passed. My doctor diagnosed me with tmj disorder a few years ago and wanted me checked for endo. I declined because she said they would have to do surgery to diagnose and even then there isn't much they can do to help you anyway. Fwiw I don't think I have endo. As far as the tmj, meh. I think I need to see a chiro. I've been trying to incorporate stretches for scoliosis in my day, helps some. Mostly I've just decided to be stubborn and not let it get to me. Still gonna do what I want to do.

I can't answer the other questions but tmj is a disorder that affects the jaw and the muscles related to it. It causes a lot of pain around the jaw joint.

Tmj is short for Temporomandibular joint, a jaw joint. Problems with it can cause a lot of pain, usually involving jaw pain, facial pain, tension headaches. I never have jaw pain or facial pain.

The doctor wanted to check for endo because of the pain during my period. Really this has improved some since then.

Usually when I drink I have 4-6 drinks, too much, I know. I was drinking daily, now 3-4 days a week. I'm committed to cutting back more. I really should do a 30 day stop. Sigh. It's hard once you've become dependent on it. I'm hoping my fitness and boobie goals will help as I'll have some focus and determination.

There's lots of good info on making kombucha if you google it. I ordered a scoby from a lady on Etsy for cheap. Basically you brew tea, add sugar, cool to room temp, put in a glass container, add the scoby, cover with a coffee filter and rubber band, wait 7-10 days. At that point you can bottle and refrigerate or bottle and allow a second ferment for 3-5 days to get some fizz, then refrigerate. I love the stuff.
