What herbs I should NOT take with bc pills?

#1
Exclamation

I stoped with NBE a year ago and I want to try again, but i'm on bc pills now. I heard that some herbs can affect the efficacy of the pills and a baby is the last thing I want in age of 19.
Wich ones can I add to my new routine? I have maca, pm, fenugreek, fennel seeds, hops, blessed thistle and also msm and kelp.

One more question: I take my pills continuously without pauses, what means i don't have periods. How should I cycle my herbs? Should I take them without cycling? I'm using an estrogen based cream, and I have a prog cream from Swansons too. How can I cycle my creams too to get more results??

Thanks!

I just started birth control too! From what I've ready saw palmetto should be avoided bc it can lower estrogen. That can decrease the effectiveness of the birth control. I also read that fenugreek and maca are alright. Hopefully someone else on here has more info because it was surprisingly difficult for me to find online. Happy growing!

Oh also I'm sure stuff like evening primrose oil and flaxseed oil are ok to take with birth control pills. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I think what I was searching on Google was far too specific. I gotta remember to keep it simple sometimes lol

After a little research, I found out the following herbal supplements can affect the efficacy of bcp:

- Black cohosh
- Saw palmetto
- Red clover
- Vitex (the sites are very emphatic about this one!)
- Dong quai
- Wild yam (too bad, I have a good quality PC made of wild yam Sad)

I also find a valorous tip:

"Most people will take the oral contraceptive pill first thing in the morning or last thing at night to reduce any interactions with absorption and foods."

I think it's a good strategy taking your pills a long time before or after taking the bcp.
