Should I lower my testosterones and boost my estrogen or balance my hormones?

#1

I found out that i am high in androgens. Ive been taking different supplements that blocks dht but i am only seeing slow results. Should i add an herb that increases estrogen in my regimen or get an herb like maca that balances your hormones?

I'd say take herbs that are anti androgenic and have testosterone lowering properties. From what I understand, androgens supress estrogen activity. Here are some herbs that reduce test./androgens

1. Saw palmetto
2. Licorice root
3. White peony
4. Spearmint (lowers free testosterone, but leaves DHEAS and total testosterone unaffected)

I vote for balancing - herbs like spearmint, and maca is supposed to be balancing as well. The way I see it, you can only guess at what level of imbalance you have, so any corrective measures you take might further imbalance things, but in the other direction, if you take too much of something. On the other hand, taking supplements/herbs/foods that have a balancing effect, your body will use them to do what it needs to do on it's own. As long as it has the right things available, your body should be able to correct itself.

One thing you might look into is doing a liver cleanse with milk thistle. I recommend using a liquid extract for best potency. Milk thistle balances by flushing build up of extra things, including hormones, from the liver, and then lets it function more effectively to cleanse the blood. Using milk thistle will probably take effect faster than most other herbs.

Thank you so much for your advice Allie. Do you think milk thistle will grow the breasts too? I dont know why but in my head i kind of think that if my hormones are balanced that maybe my breasts or anything wont grow which is weird thing to think since DHT is the reason why its not growing. Do you think once i take the milk thistle and it does level out my hormones i should see faster breast growth? My mother is a double D so im kind of guessing that I would end up with that since I have a lot of her genes.

It should help growth by having everything balanced out, because like you said, the DHT is preventing you from growing right now. I don't know that the milk thistle itself will cause growth, but once it has everything back to the levels they should be, then the program that you are using will be able to take effect, so in that way it will help you grow faster.

When I take milk thistle for about 2 weeks, I usually start to feel tingling in my breasts and notice them swelling.

So i should take milk thistle, balance my hormones, then take spearmint tea to block dht and add an estrogenic supplement??

In theory, that should do it. Just remember when you do the milk thistle liver cleanse to stop all other herbs that you are taking. I usually take the milk thistle for about 2 weeks, then stop the milk thistle and go back to whatever herbs I was using. Some NBE programs that I've seen do this cleanse every 3 months or so to clear out all the built up stuff and really helps a lot when people's growth plateaus.

From your signature it looks like you have had significant growth already, so if it were me I'd do the 2 weeks of milk thistle and then keep going with the program you had. Spearmint tea should be a helpful thing to add, and do some checking before you buy any, but I think I remember that Red Clover is estrogenic and blocks testosterone at the same time. It's part of a lot of the more basic programs that tend to work for people who don't have nutrition problems.

My growth really came from flax oil but its not working anymore. So i decided to drink spearmint tea and im really seeing results when it clmes to the excess amount of hairs on my body and a small difference in my breasts. So how does this regiemem sound then: cleanse liver with milk thistle for two weeks, take saw palmetto and red clover together. Or would that lead me to estrogen domanince?
