Circulation and Herb question

Sorry Girls, can't seem to find all the posts I remember reading and I did the search too!!! Will keep trying though.......
How would one go about deciding if they have a poor circulation, other then being cold all the time? I don't want to jump the gun and start taking something else, but I am always cold. My feet, my hands, my butt, everything!! My dh makes me sleep with socks on and if I am really cold, gloves. I have always been this way.
I have ginko here at the house, bought it awhile back for memory, but never took it, so I am wondering if I should take it. I remember reading that some of you girls really think it is beneficial, and I am wondering if it might help me?
Any thoughts or feedback? or new information?
Thanks a bunch
Henri

hi henri,
i think being cold all the time is one of the main signs of bad circulation, i think moon is taking gingko and said it helps her. i'm on wonderup which has gingko in it and since starting it i don't feel as cold as i used to. another good way to improve your circulation is by doing few exercises now and then

You are low on iron,,, check your diet. Are you taking a daily WOMEN"s supplement. We loose essential iron every month because we have periods.

If you are cold more than it's normal, best chances are that it's because of poor blood circulation. If it was because of another condition, you'd notice other negative symptoms: at iron deficiency hair loss, frail nails, tiredness, weakness, getting muscle acke from the lightest excercise; at low thyroid activity dry skin and hair, weight gain, fatiguem depression.
Poor circulation means that you have constricted arterioles, which reduces the blood supply that peripheral tissues are getting. You can imagine how that would affect NBE - we'd take herbs, but they would hardly pass through the boobs, boobs wouldn't be enough exposed to them.
GB helps marvolously with poor blood circulation. In my case however, I'm wondering if my body got used to it cause lately I'm cold again after I noticed a great change in the first few weeks after starting it. I hope not.
Anyway, I would also recomed doing ten high jumps now and then throughout the day to get the heart pumping, it doesn't really take any time and it does make quite a difference to the circulation too.

I am anemic, but I take iron for that already ~ I also know my symptoms of low iron is extreme fatigue/weakness, and my nails get brittle, and I don't have any of that. I feel really good, and my nails are very very strong right now. So I don't think that is it.
Last time my thyroid was checked it was fine, so I don't think that would be it, but who knows ~ I also don't have any of those symptoms.
I'm thinking I might go ahead and start taking ginko just to see what happens. I also found the post I was looking for, and it helped to answer some of my other questions. I somehow overlooked it previously ~ But being cold all the time is the one thing that keeps standing out to me. Hey if anything maybe I'll remember more, thats always a plus!
I will also incorporate some of those jumps, my guys will love it. Any excuse to bounce and jump and whatever else we can think of ~

Garlic is excellent for circulation. I use the non smelly caps and never stink of it...........ever. The smell of garlic can be a real turn off for most people.
If you can stomach chewing fresh cloves of garlic, then all the better. It's an excellent contraceptive too.........lol!!!

will present themselves,, everyone is different. You already show a couple. Herbs always thin the blood,, soo your not really fixing the problem!!! Your masking it. Ask doc if you can take two women's iron enriched (vitamins) supplements aday. Watch your diet!!

People who must take blood thinners,, for whatever reason,, have a very difficult time keeping warm,, this would be a problem when taking herbs,, because like I said,, herbs usually always thin blood.

Iron...............
December 8 2006, 8:25 PM
I currently am taking, doc approved (actually recommended) 3- 45 mg tablets of iron a day, in the Feosol bran, which is what she told me to get. I have been taking this dosage off and on for about 3 years now. I only go off of it, because anybody that has taken that much iron knows it tears your stomach up, so I need a periodic break. The herbs have actually played no part in my iron defiency getting worse or better, it has stayed the same since I was 14 years old. When I was pregnant with my last son, I was taking 3 tablets x 3 meals a day of this stuff, so that was 405mg of iron a day! Thats alot of iron! I don't recommend anyone take that amount unless under dr. supervision, thats the only reason I take what I take.
Like I said, I think I'll try the ginko, and just see what it does, I could always use an imporved memory!! ~ Right now the only herbs that are in my pills are: fenugreek seed, fennel seed, dong quai root, saw palmetto berries and blessed thistle. Its the natureday fulfillment formula. I am taking fish oil too. And thats it.

about circulation
December 8 2006, 8:40 PM
Alcest also just recently about cayenne being good for circulation. I'm currently taking GB, but have only been on it for about 2wks now...can't tell a difference as of yet, but maybe it's too soon. My right leg still falls asleep easily when I'm sitting for a few minutes and I still stay pretty cold. I may try Cayenne next time I order from Iherb and will let you all know if that helps. I know..another pill to the mix..great!
Breast wishes to everyone and merry x-mas!!

Smoking slows blood circulation and reduces the temp of hands and feet, I'm in the process of quitting, if you smoke you're welcome to join me in quitting!

Hey Mark,
I started out just taking 120mg (1 pill) cause that's what's recommended on the bottle, but I didn't think that was enough at all since I'm still having body parts fall asleep here.
So I just recently increased it to 2pills a day....one in the morning and one in the evening. I got mine at CVS...or you can find it at Walgreens if you have of those nearby or even Walmart...I paid $5 for it...I normally don't see any high mg's for sale, just the low dosages. Now one kind of GB I would like to try next time is the time-release ones...supposed to lasts like 12hours in the body. They're about the same price.
Whitney,
I may try to quit smoking soon...I will let you know...lord knows it would be nice to kick this nasty habit and get rid of the ball and chain dragging me and my health down. I've only been a smoker for a little over 4 yrs now, but feel like I've been doing it a lot longer than that. I just had to wait til I was almost 30 to start...stupid mistake. My husband is a smoker and when we use to go out socially, I would just do it for social reasons and he would make fun of me saying I didn't know how to inhale...then he showed me how, me being stupid not realizing the addiction I was then starting, cause before I did it plenty of times without inhaling it and never once had a craving the next day. We live and learn don't we?
I may try to quit as a new year's resolution and try the liquid stuff on natureday's site to help with quitting and cravings. I'll let you know if I do take the challenge...may even pick my book up again and read it...'easy way to stop smoking'
Good luck to you!!!!

Yesterday I bought Ginko and Cayenne both in capsules. I've started taking the Ginko, then will add in the cayenne in a couple days. Here's to keeping the boobs warm!!
Oh, also to Michelle: If you get the cayenne, I think I read you shouldn't take it on an empty stomach because they are so spicy they could aggravate. And could aggravate very sensitive stomaches or people with heartburn! Everyone keep that in mind. I dont' think I have either though so I will be a contender for it.

Cayenne can be excellent for circulation. Also, it is supposed to increase the effectiveness of other herbs that are taken with it, which could be great for NBE. But make sure to take it with food, because it can be hard on the stomach. Some people cannot tolerate it at all.
Good luck!

Thanks Alcest for letting me know about that when I try it out.
I definitely have a sensitive stomach (IBS) so don't want to aggravate things. Let us know how it goes now that you will be taking it..along with GB.
Thanks Corrie for also mentioning that it's supposed to help with effectiveness of pills...that does sound like a good addition to NBE. What's one more pill gonna hurt along with my other 20..LOL
breast wishes and merry x-mas everyone!!

Well, I don't smoke, so thats not the issue, but best of luck to you guys who are trying to quit. and after reading Alcests comment on the cayenne and the stomach irritation I am not going to try that. I get reflux from so many things that I am not going to play with potential fire!!!
I've decided to start with one tablet a day of the gb, and then go from there. I would really like to just increase my blood circulation and see if that gets my smaller "girl" to grow a little more.
There is so much information here that sometimes my head spins and I am eager to jump on whatever band wagon. Its hard to wait patiently and let whatever I am trying now to work, when so many others are reporting nice amounts of growth ..........sigh........
I do think though circulation is important so I am going to give that a try.
P.S Totally not related, but I am started to smell like syrup!!!! IS that a good sign or not?

@Mark - I take 120 mg of gink biloba per day. You should consider whether it's a full herb or an extract, cause extract doses are lower. I think mine is extract.
WU dose of GB is quite low.
Anyway, GB has made a really great difference for me in the first month or so, really it was like bang!- I got A LOT of growing pains when before I had none whatseoever and I wasn't cold anymore, when before I had to have three pairs of socks on. But then suddenly it like just stoped working.
I'm cold again and my growing pains went away. *cry* I have no idea why, did my body get used to the herbs and stop responding? :'(
I'd like to add cayenne now, but I have nowhere to buy it except on-line, but even that is almost unacessible to me cause I don't have a credit card. I hope I can find sth...

Moon: Since the Ginko is stalling, perhaps take a break from it and try cayenne instead. And then when you think the Ginko will work again you can take a break from the cayenne, etc.

I searched at every possible herb store and pharmacy in my country and there isn't one that would have a cayenne supplement. I even checked with distributors. There are very little brands of supplements available arround here in the first place and no one even imports cayenne. This in unbelievable, I can't get a bloody chilly in a capsule anywhere in the whole damn country! And I'm willing to pay for it, this is supposed to be capitalism?!! I'm sort of pissed right now.

I haven't actually asked in the supermarket yet, but I don't think powdered herbs are available here either, I mean I've never seen them in any supermarker, anywhere ever. I'll definitely ask tho, lol!
Anyway, about blood circulation and GB - as I was saying, in my previos cycle my pains sortof went away, I got them arround ovulation but in the luteal phase, when there's supposed to be the most, I didn't have any. So I though GB stoped working, but then I got my period and got growing pains again! During period - when there is supposed to be the least or no. Wtf?

Without a doubt garlic is one of the best herbs you can take for circulation, but ginger shouldn't be forgotten.
