Hey woman! Hows husband and fam?
I remember you said you wanted your butt size to decrease. I know for muscle build up you do medium to high reps with light weights (Although most of the time you'll hear low reps and heavy weights but this is going out of style). Why don't you work out with minimum weights and do high reps to keep your body toned and possibly decrease the size of your butt? If that's what you wanted?
As for me, I've had some success getting bigger down there without Maca so far doing only exercises like the bridge lifts or hip push ups (Where you're on your back with knees bent and lift your hips up), squats and hip extensions, then gradually increasing weights to stimulate muscle growth. I only wanted to include Maca when I hit a stall, so I'll take advantage of my muscle powers first!
Also, I've ready some pretty incredible stuff about Maca's benefits like increase of energy and all that good stuff.. did you experience any of this?

I'd actually give anything to get rid of some of my butt its to big lol, I don't gain any weight anywhere else, but in my butt area... my mom and sisters were all the same way. Im skinny as can be, no boobs what so ever 32A, but my ass is freakin ghetto as hell. I'd like to know how to stop the fat from going to my ass and make it go somewhere else lol like my boobs or arms Idk. Im not much for exercise, so maybe thats why I get fat there all the time... cause I sit on my ass alot, so it all goes straight down to my butt-tocks lol.

Ah my infamous butt... lol. It goes down in size (tones) when I do certain exercises, but sneaks back if I let off even a little. My total body fat has increased, but in a more even distribution. In other words I am more plush than before...lol.
I think that Maca was definitely the butt enhancer, but over all as I balanced my estrogen dominance I gained a more 'womanly' physique. In other words I now have curves instead of being bean-pole thin. This has been hard to get used to. I am not fat - but I am not skinny which is what I was used to. I think my body finally completed puberty... lol.
Apparently my body has a lot of estrogen receptors in my big ole butt and any weight I gain is going to go right to those twins cushions.
As far as Maca giving me any other results - I never noticed it. I did try it again at much lower dosages than my first time, but I never noticed any effect that was strong enough to catch my attention.
I hope Maca has been everything you wanted it to be.

Wouldn't it be awesome if they could just take all the excess crap from the parts of our bodies it ain't suppose to be(butt, hips, thighs, jiggly arms etc) and put it in our boobs????? I know that even though I am thin, I have excess crap where it doesn't need to be(gravity sucks!!!) and could certainly use it in the boobs! It may not be alot of excess crap but it'd increase my breast some and any little would help!!!!!

laisegirl and smallville, for areas I want to improve on I always work out with exercises and leave the other areas alone. that way u can bulk up or down, and although I don't think spot training is easy (some say its impossible but I've managed to get my stomach tight while the rest of my body remained the same)it will make a huge difference.
moon, I did not try maca yet since im getting such good results w/ exercise alone. my butt is more lifted and rounder on the top. i've gained 1/2'' so far and only worked out 5 times with days in between for muscles to rest. however, when I get maca to try, you'll be the first to know ;-).
waxingmoon, I know you're sick of my maca questions so thanks for answering once again ;-).

I am doing the whole maca thing, and I make maca shakes (which is really just maca and milk, and then I blend it). I dunno if it is doing anything for my booty just yet, I think it's too early to tell, but what I do know is that I do get a lot of energy from the shakes, and I feel as if my mood improves, too! It seems to work better than coffee for me, and the effects last for a while.
Good luck with the whole booty thing! I think I need to try different exercises for mine, I was getting it a little bigger, and then it shrunk again. (Drat!)

How did you get past the taste? I remember reading that waxingmoon wasn't bothered by it, but I can only wish the same held true for me. I tried mixing the powder in yogurt (gagged) & shakes (still gagged). Finally settled on adding maca to hot cocoa+soy milk drink; cocoa/chocolate & soy are classified as yang food (boobie friendly).

Lol! To tell you the truth, I am in NO way past that taste. You should see me trying to get that shake down, I literary hold my nose and chug. That way, you can't taste anything but the milk, but I recommend you follow it with a chaser (a very flavorful juice would be best) because the minute you unplug your nose, maca in all its glory will punch back. I wish I had waxingmoon's ability to enjoy the taste to some degree, but I can't. I feel your pain!
I actually found mixing it in with my cookies and cream protein powder made it even more repulsive, so if you try the plug-you-nose and chug method, plain milk may be best.

Ok here are the exercises I do:
1. 5 min warm up with either jogging, rope skipping, bike riding,
2. Pre-exhaust exercise with bridge http://a.abcnews.com/images/GMA/nm_hip_e...429_mn.jpg
or hip extensions http://www.kidsarus.org/images/Volunteer...HipExt.gif (use ankle weights or bands). Pre-exhaust exercises will push your muscles to exhaustion, and the second set of exercises is the real exercise, that's what will build your muscles. Do as many reps as it will take to exhaust your muscles, wether it's 15 or 20. Then IMMEDIATELY with no rests do the real exercises.
3. The real exercises: Squats, one legged bench squat http://www.fitness-ebooks.com/bench-step-exercise.htm, lunges. The technique here for beginners is to do high reps and use low weights. And for more advanced to do high reps and use moderate-weights. In other words, beginners use low to no weights in the beginning, and once you've hit a stall, that's when you add weights. Do about 15-20 reps and 3 sets.
If you just want to tone up your butt and lose some weight, do lots of cardio and focus on the high reps and low weights.
Everyone's body is very different so do as many reps as you feel is necessary for you but have a structured routine. I.e. start off with 10-12 reps and 3 sets, and increase or decrease, but adjust accordingly to yourself. I've changed up my routine with weights several times accordingly to how my body responds.
Advice:
1. Always warm up
2. Do one leg at a time for more drastic results (Pre-exhaust with one leg and do the real exercises on one leg first, and once you're finished do the second leg). It takes longer but it gives great results.
3. Always push with your heel as that is what will target your glutes, if you push with the ball of your foot that will target your front thighs and calves more.
4. Always visualize while you exercise. Imagine your butt getting bigger.
5. Never exercise on an empty stomach (have at least 2-3 meals prior to exercise, and 1 hour before exercise)
6. If you're building muscle, eat a high-protein meal right after exercise or take a protein-shake

Update: I've gone from I went from 33.75'' to 34.5'', it might be under an inch but it makes the biggest difference. I've only worked out 5-6 times and last time I worked out was 4-5 days ago. I've been bad ;-(. I normally measured right after working out and everytime there would be some sort of temporary muscle swelling. But the next time working out, my butt would always be a tiny bit bigger than before. Note: I did used to work out years ago so there is some muscle memory in my butt. However, my butt's never been this defined and perky before.
While exercising I really focused on my glutes and not my thighs. Remember, if you feel it burning in your butt, that's where it will grow, if you feel it in your thighs too, your thighs will be affected.
The things I did different from before was really visualizing and focusing during exercise. It's not the duration but the intensity that counts. What I do is, while working out, squeeze my butt muscles as I move as much as possible and imagining that they're growing as I'm work ing out, then immediately after working out, I take a protein shake and lay down on my bed and imagine all the protein going straight to my butt, then I can "feel" and 'see" in my mind the butt muscles growing. I believe visualization was 50% of my success.
I'll see if I can post before and afters. Although the before picture won't be when my butt was completely flat it will show the difference between now and in a few weeks ;-)
