Do you bend over/lay on your back/stand up when pumping?

#1

Hi,

I have read about different theories. When I bend over, I end up with more tissue in the dome for sure, but is that really the best way?
How do others do it?

Lie on my back usually, although sometimes I will sit up. I've never really thought about bending over. Do you recommend it?

Hey, I am not sure if I would recommend it. I am using an electric pump (the Bosom beauty), and after a while, my breast fills out the entire dome. That doesn't happen when I am on my back (the whole time, lying in bed watching a show on my laptop). So I am wondering if it's just the surrounding tissue being pulled in and if that actually helps?

This is all about gravity. In your case yes I think gravity is causing more surrounding breast tissue to be pulled in. When lying on your back, gravity works against that pull, so less tissue enters and the breast may appear less full in the dome. I don't know if that actually helps though.

Hey, thank you. I was wondering the same, does it help?

I've been thinking about this question - it's a really interesting one.

I've come to the conclusion that yes, more tissue being pulled in could be beneficial. After all, it means that more surface area is under tension, which may promote greater expansion. That's my take on it anyway.

Thank you so much, that makes sense.
I plan on having foot surgery this fall (have had problems with the bunion on my right foot for years now) which means I am going to be home for 6-8 weeks and I want to pump all day every day while sitting at home and I am looking for the best method. Right now I usually bend over when putting the dome on my breast and then stand up and pump some more.
