For those in the US, here's a link (and quote) about efforts in Congress to regulate/ban supplements and herbs in the US. And the effort to stop it.

Since he's having trouble getting his own bill passed, he's trying a different approach to get the same results. New Action Alert! NDI Supplement Guidance is Just a Bait-and-Switch-and Time Is Running Out to Stop It!"

Yes, unfortunately its a never ending and ongoing war
Thanks for posting this link.
I advise anyone who doesn't support these types of bills (which is practically everyone here) to learn as much as you can about what's going on with constant ongoing need for banning of vitamins and supplements.
Sign any petition you can. You don't need to be paranoid as it has been going on for years but please take it seriously by not being a sleeping sheep.

Bump! Remember, these online petitions are a breeze. Don't forget to spread the word. here's some links. Also, its good to get in the know with the bigger game plan that's been in the works. Not many know about the Codex Alimentarius
(This bill submitting tends to go on and on like every other month, Geez!) So check for different Bill names as it changes all the time. Greeeeeeeeeeeed

Thanks for the links. I'll pass them on. Unfortunately my phone doesn't handle YouTube very well, so I can't watch them.

"Unfortunately my phone doesn't handle YouTube very well, so I can't watch them."
My phone and phone service are 2G, so trying to watch videos on it are, to say the least, very frustrating. The video is mostly chopped up and indecypherable, the sound is chopped up and unintelligible. I have yet to find an app that will download and save the videos, for viewing offline.
My computer is 130 miles away, so I can't use it. So I'm stuck using this phone for the present.
There have been no problems watching videos that I have been able to download, the phones media app works fine as long it's not trying to stream and play.

The European Directive is already in effect since May of this year.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Di...l_Products
The Directive has been challenged all the way up to European Court, and upheld.
There are two remaining issues:
1) The "herbalist exemption": a herbalist can prescribe an unlicensed herbal remedy. The question is then: who is a herbalist? Professional organisations, especially in the UK, and the UK Department of Health are working on lists of registered practitioners.
2) All herbal medicines must be manufactured according to the same standard as pharmaceuticals: Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). In May of this year, supplement manufacturers were hiring GMP experts. I guess the only place where they could find them was in pharmaceutical companies.
