high blood pressure

I want to relate my short-lived experience with bovine ovary supplements. I had just received them this week and by the end of the second day of taking them my blood pressure zoomed to 168/98. I had been feeling a little peculiar after supper the second day, the same feeling I have (it's a heart thing) after having drunk too much coffee. However, I hadn't been drinking coffee, so I questioned the supplements. That night before bed, after taking another dose, within 30 minutes I felt awful. I can't really explain my symptoms, but I knew I was not well. I took my blood pressure, and then knew that was what the problem was and knew it was because of the supplements. I drank some activated charcoal in water, hoping it might be able to absorb what might still be in my system. I'm not sure if it helped, but I knew it couldn't hurt. I then spent the night doing relaxation breathing (as if in labor), keeping tabs on my blood pressure, which kept coming down. I finally was able to go to sleep about 3:30 a.m., my blood pressure by this time (after about 4 hours) measuring 124/72. I woke up this a.m. with 108/63. It was not a pleasant experience, and I just wanted to share this with anyone considering BO. I was taking 1800 mg daily along with pituitary (105 mg) and kelp (450 mcg iodine). I was disappointed because I was, in that short amount of time, starting to feel the breast "pain" that is supposed to be felt if the supplements are working. Perhaps I'll be able to find something else that works better with my body.

So sorry to hear that Cindy,
But the most important thing is that you are okay now.I think you should take a break and maybe try herbs. If the herbs cause the same reaction maybe the increased estrogen is causing that.Have you done a hormone level test?I think this symptom is estrogen dominance.Your health comes first.

Sorry to hear about your high blood pressure problems Cindy. Question, though, did your Kelp supplement also have Sodium? My Solaray Kelp supplements have, in addition to the iodine, 150mg of sodium. Something like that could be the cause of the high blood pressure.
