Zinc and Copper

#1

Hello all.

I have recently had a number of piercings through cartilage and some of them are taking a wile to heal. the last one I had done a few days ago the woman suggested to start taking a zinc supplement to aid with the healing as I have quite a few new ones which I’m healing at the same time.

Having bought some zinc and copper supplements I was interested to learn that the minerals help and promote cell division which is why they help heal a piercing. that’s all well and good but I instantly thought about NBE being in a health food shop buying supplements: the two have become intertwined in my mind.

Cell division and tissue expansion through pumps grab me as related (see my train of thought here)so I thought I would share as I don’t think I have ever seen a post about them or their threads are deeply hidden in the sea of information.

Thanks for the interesting idea. I know they suggest taking zinc to combat a cold, but you have to be careful to not overdose. Time for some research, I guess.

That sounds very tempting. However, I would caution against taking too much zinc. I know that it is possible to lose your sense of smell with certain zinc cold treatments, though this http://www.livestrong.com/article/244661...e-on-zinc/

lists other possible overdose effects.

Hi Croissance,

I know you have to be careful with trace metals but I keep to the recommended dose on the back of the bottle which is one pill a day and I don’t take any more than that. The zinc is not a real part of my NBE routine I am taking it to heal so I don’t feel the need to take a high dose but taking it can only be a bonus. I also found someone else taking zinc, Onicemile. She has had such fantastic success, I’d even go as far as to say some of the best on the site bar people who have reached there goal and or site gurus.

All in all I see this as encouraging and I may continue taking the zinc post healing to encourage my pumping. I may also start to take an iron pill. zinc in the morning, iron in the evening. I know the two don't mix well so you need to space them.

I have healed nearly all of my piercings using colloidal silver. It is a natural antibiotic and a true healer. Even some infected piercings have come back from near extinction using the silver. Sea salt soaks are also very healing and mild.
