OOOhhh nice..good.. hey been reading on a PCOS forum and I came across something you have mentioned but didnt click...aromatase..if you are low in it will effect androgens ..right? They say aromatase converts androgens into estrogen..I wonder if I should use this as an anti-androgen? If so what ups aromatase..flaxseed? Do you think this is a good idea..I have read that PCOS people recommend flaxseed..but not sure if it is the oil or ground seed..haha I know what else your going to say ups aromatase..hops..cause I seen alcohol or metaformin sp? used..

It seems to work fast enough to try in a short experiment. I doubt it will be effective though. If you take enough barley grass, the testosterone has nowhere else to go. It will become estrogens, it will just take a little longer if you don't have plenty of aromatase.

Oops I forgot about the barley grass..well I will go with that and my veggie drink too.. Thank you for that link..very intersting what they said about PM I wonder if that is why I felt like it wasnt doing anything tita wise for me..it help my skin and hair some but wasnt worth the other symptoms..headaches, anxitey sp?, painful periods!!!!, more pms.. ok good to know that barley will take care of the testosterone cause between the WY, maca and FG I was wondering if was making my hormones unbalanced but maca and WY suppose to balance them out..anyway going to have some veggie drink with extra barley grass..in about an hour..haha I was you, just had some chocolate ..going to have to cut down on that and complex carbs, and def. sugar..doing a slow change..that is why I thought of the fruit dipped in chocolate with whipped cream...Big Grin I will have to start back with protein shakes too until I can get use to being patient with cooking.. only patient with cooking when I cook for my man..I guess it is the love you put into it for someone else to put a smile on there face..Blush

Haha, the love of a man goes through his stomach Big Grin That's a Dutch expression, don't know if it exists in English.

Fenugreek and wild yam are certainly a lot easier to use than PM. And maca too, as long as you take enough barley grass. Lowering carbs may also have an anti-androgen effect. Chocolate is good, as long as it's black, not too sweet, and not full of fats other than cocoa butter.

Are you sure you're not getting a protein powder reaction on your skin? It varies enormously between brands and batches, but certainly if you start increasing it, watch your skin.

yes love dark chocolate..no not drink the powdered ones yet..just making it with eggs and milk..I mentioned that cause I was thinking of using it.. the only one that didnt bother me was one from vitamin shoppe..it had like no fat..tasted good and no reactions from it..I felt good on it and the cost was good too..I did stop putting yogurt in my homemade shake and havent gotten any breakouts.. yes lower sugar intake and complex carbs will help..did that a long time ago and worked good..was very hard to do at first..well it was hard cause I love bread, potatoes, and sugar...but have cut waaaaaaaaaaaaay down on all..years ago I think I ate all carb meals at times and candy too..I was really really bad..so much better now..as for cleaning my symptoms I need to stick to a regimen for a while and I havent..so doing this each day and going to try and have it set within the next few weeks..

Yes Joyland,

I've put my herbs in smoothies, and eaten them with ice cream. Those things are sweet enough to cover up the bitterness of the hops, and the black seed add something crisp to the taste. On days when the kids are not here, I just use milk, whole grain cereals, and add raisins and honey to sweeten.

That's really great. Less bread and potatoes do help. Sticking to this set of herbs for a few weeks will certainly make the symptoms clearer. I used to do an experiment every two weeks, but for many herbs, that was too fast to learn anything. So now I test L-arginine for six weeks, black seed for two months, and I wait six months before trying out another phyto-estrogen.

Hey Isabelle,

Your in bed now..but I will say good day.. anyway..that was so weird..do you know I was looking for a post from this thread but just happened to check that other post out and was like..dam where was my head..it wasnt even related to the topic of the anything in the thread I dont think...anyway..in short what did it mean your answer to the maca being an anti-androgen..still dont understand what the end answer is..I posted that cause I didnt understand the lingo..dont even know what DIM is..yeah yeah going to check it out now..no clue what the answer is..Blush I am thinking of taking some SP..I need a boost and maca for some reason isnt doing it or this combo..but I think it is maybe not enough maca cause before I added the WY, FG and barley grass I still had no get up and go.. When I took the SP I had a little bit more energy..haha yeah wonder why ..remember we got anxitey from it..well just the 1000mg of SP just gave me get up and go..I may take one only and see..cause when I was taking the borage oil it made things worse, I was more oily in the hair.. my thing is I want to make sure my androgens and under control..would taking a combo borage, flax, and fish oil be bad or good..I stopped taking them too well all EFAs cause I felt they were making me worse too..more oily hair..I think my vitamins and minerals are pretty good cause anytime I take supps..I get worse..I am doing pretty good but think I need an anti andro..I may do SP again with your thing drink more coffee and forgot the other..maybe drink alot more water..dont know.. other then SP if I up WY that will help the androgens more right but would it be more upping my progestrone? but if it does that assuming I maybe low in it if progestrone goes up does estrogen..or is it estrogen makes progestrone..well sorry for rambling...ahhh later..ah guess I am back with the NBE kinda..well trying to get my hormones balanced will help titas and booty grow..Blush

Maca is not a 5α-reductase inhibitor, and it does not hava an effect on the androgen receptor.

The barley grass may decrease your energy just because it's working. If it decreases DHT, you'll get low energy. The combo borage, flax, and fish oil will make your skin even more oily. You could try SP again, yes.

WY will up progestrone. It will also increase estrone a little, but I doubt it will do much about estradiol.
