This Eye Color Spectrum Chart was posted on eyecolorboard. A member named Kingpage made it (I hope he won't mind if I share it here for you to see. Since you probably don't have an account over there):
Here's the link and pictures. It goes from darker to lighter to give you an idea of how they might change:

Hmmm. I have to disagree on this chart as it has different types of irises in the same category. Like brown 1 and 2 are actually not true brown. Your green category has also included mixed irises that are truly not green .
The only one the with the category correct is the last column for blue . Remember, a mixed iris is both genetically blue and brown. Its neither true brown or true blue and is certainly not Green. All of your amber/honey category are mixed irises. Green 3-5 are also mixed irises and are not true green like the last two. Also, the aqua category is also mixed irises.
For example,
Many of the "honey" are also a mixed irises. Hazel means mixed irises too. Green is green or its possibly a blue iris with an overlay of gold or amber lipochrome or toxic casting. Blue is blue whether its grayish, dark blue or light and possibly the rare voilet.
Now we all know
brown is brown whether its reddish, blk, or light brown but they are browns and shouldn't have mixed the brown irises with the mixed irises period in the category listed because they are different and will lighten quite differently than mixed irises and other iris colors. This is the only reason why it matters when it comes to iris lightening.
It would probably be better to have spectrum with all sorts of
1. true brown (light brown formally know as amber or honey), all sorts of
2.true green, all sorts of
3.true blue,
4. all variants of mixed irises (formerly known as the true hazel)on a darker to lighter chart.
