How to Lighten Your Eye Color Naturally

So does that mean that my eyes are genetically mixed? && if so, does having this "mixed gene" increase the chances of a successful eye lightening process? I'm a little confused on that notion, but I thought someone mentioned it in one of the earlier posts.

No, if you have brown eyes it means the green eye trait is recessive, it means that the gene WAS NEVER expressed so putting water and honey in your eyes will not change your genetics to express the gene.

The honey and water work by suppressing melanin production in the eye, means less melanin so lighter eyes, the eye color shades go from black to gray, with brown, green, blue, etc in the middle.

You reach lighter colors brown -> hazel because there's less melanin, not because your dad had hazel eyes and the suppressed genes are all of a sudden being expressed. Honestly I don't know where this idea of genetics playing a role has come from but I wouldn't buy to much into. It's ridiculous really. Genetics is not going to play a large role in the lightening process like what some have said.

PS: The stinging isn't so bad Smile you kind of get use to it. Plus it brightens the eyes up so amazingly!

Thanks for the info! I thought the genetics bit sounded a bit too good to be true... lol. So, while lightening your eyes, have you found the dark, outer ring lightening up as well? I've seen a few before-and-after pics of people, and it seems like that part of the eye lightens up as well... I kinda think it looks nicer to have the inner ring lighter and the outer ring darker - it's more of a contrast that way, y'know? Tongue But I'll take what I can get.

PS: I'm not as brave as you are, I'm afraid... xD But I'll try my best!

In my experience, no mine hasn't lightened, my limbal ring has stay pitch black and thick, but I like it that way so it's cool.

Hey everyone, I've been doing some more research on this and looking up some reviews. Two people mentioned experiencing blurriness. Did anyone else experience this? I'm a bit worried about this. ;_;

^ Your results look too good to be true! That's crazy! And it looks like the flash was lighter in your first picture! Great progress, keep it up!

So, I'm not *sure* if my eyes are lightening yet, but...it seems like they're starting to look brighter, even in dark lighting. I'll give it more time before I say it for definite, though. But I have been holding my eyes open as long as possible when I put the drops in, and boy does it burn like hell! But I think it's definitely working better now. Hopefully I can be at least a full shade or two lighter by summer!

Actually, if you compare both pics, (the bottom)the blk hair and irises have a brownish or purplish hue as opposed to the top pic that has blk hair and irises looking more blk. Not to say that its not working, its just something that you can see how the lighting of the photo affects the look of the pigment

Is it possible to make limbal rings more pronounced if you lighten your eyes?

I've given up trying to describe my eye color, it's more of a blue/grey, sometimes green with a light brown central heterochromia.

I would love to have a more striking limbal ring around my eye, can eye lightening help with this?

I don't know if anyone has taken a look at friends and family's dark brown eyes and noticed the many different shades of dark brown, my sisters have dark brown eyes that are very light under bright light and brown outside, my best friend has very opaque brown eyes outside and inside, my eyes were black brown in every light and outside.

I've noticed in particular my best friends eyes which are opaque ( glassy brown) would have light eyes within around 4-6 months.

However I've come to the realisation that mine will take at least 1 and half or more years to change. Just because of my shade of black brown, I've been doing this 4 months and they are no longer black brown, they are now chocolate brown and since I've changed to JARRAH HONEY I'm so shocked at how opaque/glassy they've become, I looked at my eyes on the train ( always do but always looks dark brown) and I couldn't believe the change.

I also never refrigerate and I removed chamomile since changing honey because as far as I can see with this experiment through research anyone who is successful sticks to just distilled water/ plain water and straight honey.

I also agree with Emily when she says this has nothing to do with genetics it's to do with melanin, if someone says that theyre going to lighten their skin your not going to say to him/her that It won't work unless their background is full of light people because it has nothing to do with that, it's all to do with melanin and I've got an ample amount to get through looking at other peoples brown eyes so I know it will take a while but I love the change already.
