NBE with contraception? Suggestions please x

#1

Hello,

In advance, I apologise for the huge post, I often runaway with myself.

I had a look around and I'm excited with all of the stories on this website. I used to have a 36C but after my child and a year of breastfeeding I'm down to a 34/36A, the fat deposits have literally disappeared and they are 'flat' at the top and seem empty just beneath where the tissue/glands are.

I didn't put on or lose weight majorly, still a size 8/10(uk) but I'm bottom heavy so I've been unable to do wear anything topside without heavy padding.

Anyway - rambling!

Before becoming Mum, I always dealt with my poly-cystic ovaries and irregular and sometimes non-existent periods. I have noticed since after birth is that my hormones levels must have changed, I went from dry irritable skin to extreme oil in the nose area (and no longer dry anywhere else).

I have absolutely no idea where to start here, I have no sex drive and feel pretty fed up (like many of you probably have in our small boobie situation).

Will NBE still work even though I don't really have cycles anymore? (edit: I have the implanon contraception implant in my arm)
I haven't much of a clue on herbs but I was thinking Maca at least as I heard it can help with libido. (I'm 27, My child's nearly 4, I should be back into sex by now!)

Sorry for the rambling, I've been browsing over the forum for about two weeks now without registering so had to just get it all out, clearly! Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Good luck to everyone, follow your dreams x

Well, the jury is out on whether I can do NBE with non-cycling contraceptives or not, or if it affects them in any way. Hopefully one of you may know the answer.

I'm seeing my doctor on Thursday and asking them to do a hormone test and see what they think about my projected journey into this mine field of pills, massages and measuring.

One thing's for sure, it's a start.

Is yours the progesterone-based implant? I think a few on here have done NBE w a progesterone-based contraceptive w success (I think IDreamofD is one).

As far as whether it makes your contraceptive less effective or not, there are a handful of herbs that MAY interfere (PM and wild yam, off the top of my head), but I don't think anybody knows for sure.

Thank you, yes it's progesterone based and I am of course worried it might interfere but also been reading peoples plans and they are usually started at the end of a cycle with tweaking along the way.

I have no periods whatsoever and was irregular before (varying greatly) so have no cycle to take the pills with, wondering if that then would make this less effective, or not at all. I've started gently on starflower oil and will see how I feel before adding anything else into the program.

I'm glad you told me about Yam and PM, I was considering PM as I've read great things about it. Appreciate the response, thanks again.
